It's well off the beaten path, but Lake Anna State Park has a lot to offer families looking for outdoor activities. We spent a fun Saturday there canoeing with a ranger, learning to pan for gold, hiking in the woods, exploring the visitors' center, eating hot dogs (of course), and swimming. But you need to get there early on weekends... more
