This is a must-do when traveling through Sperryville! Even if you do not care for "spirits", this is still such an educational tour to watch the whiskey making process. The staff's passion for their commitment in making a top-quality product, shines through, as they make the tour fun and well organized. They are working on tasting their products in the... More

Visited today. Was looking forward to a possible sample, even with a small fee. Came in and was told the next tour would be in 15 minutes. Watched another employee take a couple back to the distillery - the tour - while others were waiting. The product is very expensive and there is an "air" about the place that everyone... More

Without advance planning, we visited Copper Fox Distillery and were treated to a most interesting tour. IT was fascinating to get a first-hand look at the operations of this distillery which produces a prize-winning spirit. The tour is interesting to visitors of all ages.

We thought it might be a good break from hiking while in Shenandoah, and we were correct! Good, fun tour which they keep to small groups, and they were running every 20-30 minutes. Very small distillery, so it didn't take much time (about an hour). No tasting allowed. Not hard to find, there are signs everywhere. Beware there are no... More

Even though we had previously been to this distillery 3 years ago, we thoroughly enjoyed the tour again! The tour guide was very entertaining and knowledgable, and the lounge area was perfect for keeping our 2 year old happy and comfortable for a full hour! The tour was free and no tastings are allowed by law, but the gift shop... More

We visited the Copper Fox Distillery as part of a drive along the 211 Wine Route in October. As a few people have said, it looks a bit ramshackle from the outside, but it is well worth stopping by. The tour around the place from one of the owners is one of the best I've ever been on - entertaining... More

We got a great tour of the distillery. Don't let the run down appearance of the area put you off. When we got there the arts building was "SHUT" (I guess this is how you say "closed" in rural Virginia). The antiques building locked ramshackle and hard to tell where the door is located. Same with the distillery, but there... More

We were greeted by a lovely labrador dog and a cat curled up in a chair in the very inviting welcome area of the distillery. The owner, Rick Wasmund, immediately took us on an informative and amusing tour. We learned the whole process and he was very helpful and accommodating when we wanted to take photos. The aroma throughout was... More

Don't miss this delightful surprise in Sperryville. We were directed her by our Innkeepers and we were not disappointed. A unique family run distillery with friendly owners and employees. We learned about making whiskey, and were able to purchase some in their store. A great stop on our hiking trip.

My husband and i went to Luray Caverns, and shocked by the ticket prices, we decided to just go look at the Luray Caverns gift shop. A flyer for the Copper Fox was on the brochure display, and we decided on the fly to drive the 14 miles to Sperryville to see the distillery. A week later, we are still... More
