This place was way more organized than I had imagined it would be. I expected a "pickers" warehouse, but it was more like a boutique/antique mall. We spent about an hour here, but we could have spent more. It was in the 90's when we were there and there is no AC. There is way more here than just salvage.... More

Their warehouse is full of stuff for sale, either by BD or others renting space and prices are actually very reasonable. If we had brought the truck instead of the suv, we would have been taking more home than we did!! Also, if you watch the show, you know how friendly and fun they seem to be. They're exactly the... Lots of cool old accent pieces scattered all over the place. Not a lot of help, but if you tell them what you are looking for, they will tell you where to look. Example: we paid $75 for an old fireplace mantel that a daughter wanted to use as a headboard. Looks great, and she can put things on it.

My family loves to come here on a Saturday morning and just wander up and down the aisles. You never know what sort of treasures you may find. And it is a great place to get ideas you can try on your own. Definitely worth a stop when you are in town!

We always include a stop at Black Dog when showing family or friends around Roanoke for the first time. I think there is something there for everyone. They have custom pieces that are cool to look at and always spark my imagination. They also have a wide variety of antique and salvage items and I have found some great pieces... More

After becoming a big fan of this antique salvage store via their own show on the DIY channel, made our way to their store while on antique shopping trip to a show in North Carolina. The location of the store gave our Garmin fits, but once there was amazed at all the inventory. Was surprised to find they had about... More

I live near Black Dog and visit once a month or so just to see what's new and to get my creative juice flowing. A great place to buy unique gifts. There really is something for everyone.

Large area to dig around and find treasures. If you can't come up with any you are sure to leave With many ideas . It is a great place to roam and see the creative uses of salvage finds. If you loved the show you will go home happy!

I first went to Black Dog Salvage years ago, when they were a small operation. It was, and still is, a place to find the hard to find . . . the unusual . . . the unique item for your house or garden. But they have become so big now that the prices are over the top. The selection... More
