Link's photography is excellent and fascinating and there is a lot of very good information about steam trains. If you are interested in photography but not so interested in trains, I think it is still worth a visit. If... More

It was great to see massive, historic trains both from within and from the rails. Now I know where to take friends from out of town.

This exhibit of steam era portraits of professional quality will transport you into a past, but not forgotten, time in America's and Roanoke's steam rail history. You will be transported in a never-to-be-forgotten experience. See YouTube video at "TrainManDan100" for more information.

O. Winston Link was a unique man. Even if you have no interest in railroad heritage, this museum should appeal to anyone interested in technology, history, art, photography, engineering, and creative works. Mr. Link was a pioneer of photography. He used his engineering training, genius, and artistic talents to create a national treasure that was almost lost to a greedy... More

My partner and I stumbled upon this museum purely by accident. He was SO exited as he knew of O. Winston Link's photography AND is a rail buff. This place was heaven to him. We walked in only 1 hour before they closed so he couldn't see it all. As it happens, we'll be back near Roanoke this summer and... More

We visited the museum the day before our Train Excursion on the Norfolk & Southern route, to Bluefield West Virginia. The museum is very nice, and a great place for a Rail-o-phile.
