I traveled 200 miles out of my way for this

One of the great US fotogs. Iconic images of a forgotten, romantic time.. And beautifully curated. My detour was totally worth it.

Remarkable photographs but it would be more enjoyable to someone who has a passion for railroads and history.

If you like trains and or photography, you will love this place. I'm not a train buff at all, but I find the photos to be a very interesting portrait of the middle of the 20th century in the region.

Have only been twice. Good if you have done everything else and need something new to do especially with out-of-town guests.

The O Winston Link Museum is an excellent stop for anyone interested in the regional history of trains to the Roanoke area. The museum focuses on Brooklyn Photographer Winston Link and his relationship to the Northern & Western Railroad one of the last railroads to exclusively use steam engines in the 1950s. A showcase of the technology of the time... More

Great old photographs. Very talented photographer. A "don't miss" stop while in Roanoke. Very near the Hotel Roanoke and Transportation museum. Make a day of it.

Worth it if u like trains and black and white photography. O. Winston Link is to train photography as Ansil Adams is to Yosemite.

The photos themselves and the sdtories of the RR and the people who lived nearby are interesting and beautiful. The information about how the artist and how he managed to get these phots was fascinating.
