Trails for mountain biking, horses, hiking/running/walking. A dozen fields for soccer, softball, football, field hockey, and lacrosse. Dedicated area for cricket games. Lake for fishing. Water mine water park (admission fee). Playgrounds. Picnic areas with grills (very popular on weekends). Huge campground within 17 miles of DC. What doesn't Lake Fairfax have?

This expansive park, for the area, has numerous trails and substantial wildlife. I have heard mixed reviews on the camping, but I usually go when I stay with friends who have a home that backs up to this park.
Would I leave other attractions and take a train then bus to this park without being in the area? Probably not....

I was geocaching at this park and it was set up really nicely. The caches I found had been placed to teach children how to geocache, so they were hidden nicely, but not so well hidden that I was frustrated with the hunt. This park has a river running through it, a lake and swimming pool. They also have a...
