Nice setting

Since it was raining, my date and I had the place to ourselves, well and the dogs. I would highly recommend it.

This park has some attractive camp grounds, athletic fields, a nice skate-board park, a lake with small boats for fishing, and trails for hiking. There is a carousel that runs in the summer. I have gone several times to the large "Water Mine" pool, but it has never been an enjoyable experience for me. It is over-crowded, the food vendors... More

Lake Fairfax Park is easily accessible by car and has lots of parking space, but we walked to it from Reston town centre via the Washington and Old Dominion Rail Trail. There is an unmarked footpath going from the corner of a turning circle at the end of Michael Faraday Drive (which you cross going east/left from Reston). When you... More

it has water park (but i am not fan of swimming with so many kids that it feels like a DC metro during pick hours). It has a lake and you can fish there but can't swim in it. The park has many sport fields, trails, and RV and camping site. You can easily spend an hour or two hiking... More

We recently spent the morning at the park, mostly at the Watermine Swimming Hole part. Kids two and under were free, and kids 3 and up paid based on their height. Adults had a flat rate. We got there right at park opening and waited in line a good thirty minutes, so by the time we got into the park,... More

We recently had our annual company family picnic at Lake Fairfax and we were extremely unhappy. The site itself was nice and green and shady but had not been cleaned well at all, just looked trashy. But the biggest issue was the water park. We had reserved 48 entries and were told multiple times, right up to the day before,... More

I live just couple of miles away from this park. Its a pretty good park to spend several hours. Parking is ample in several different areas. There is a marina, a boardwalk, a carousel, skate park, huge picnic ground, a water park (water mine), few multipurpose fields, soccer fields..etc. So, plenty of stuff to do if you are up for... I live not too far from Lake Fairfax and enjoy the single track trails in there for hiking, trail running and mountain biking. The trails are not very well marked, but I think there are some on-line maps available. You can use Lake Fairfax as a way to connect to the Cross County Trail (head towards Great Falls by crossing... It's in a good location and has nice picnic areas an a good hiking trail. Watch the weather though... some parts flood easily and can stay that way for days afterward...
