This is an absolutely stunning park with a gorgeous lake with phenomenal sunsets. There are also hiking trails, paddle boats, camping, and fishing (i.e., in season).

Great picnic areas, small playgrounds for children, and lots of spaces to run around and play sports in. I love the bridge/walkway that takes you out to the middle of the lake, it makes for a really pretty picture and several of my friends have their prom photos taken here. Gorgeous park, worth a visit!

I've been to Lake Fairfax for a company-sponsored BBQ and to the skatepark for a skate contest and this place literally has something for everyone. The picnic pavilion we occupied had tons of space for us to do a wellness fair outside and to feed everyone a terrific lunch along with playing games of all varieties. The skatepark was secure,... My wife were looking at the map and trying to find a place to stretch our legs and found this park. A short drive later and we were walking. The park is huge with lots of woods, a pleasant lake and meandering paths. It is a nice place for fresh air and exercise.

It seems like a good place for picnic. Lots of tables and BBQ pits for grilling. They also have a swimming pool open to public during summer time. The best part was the free entrance. It would have been nice if they had extra parking spots. Non the less decent place for outdoor fun!

This park was the site of many softball games when I was in the city league several years ago. It's still a great venue for softball and other group games, but also for camping, hiking and picnics and now for music festivals. Parking can get crowded and finding your way around can get confusing, but it's worth the trouble.

Fairfax Park has gone through some great upgrades since the early 2000s. New administrative building and dock along with FINALLY mapping out and marking all the trails. They have a little known camping area for tent and motor home camping that is great and provides access to washington DC via buses and subway not far from the park in Reston.

Haven't been here in a few years as my memory of this waterpark was that it was geared to toddlers. They have added a new water slide tower with three slides on it. They also added a water feature that kids can climb on and splash water on eachother and it also has a couple of slides on it. My... More

What a great find! I stumbled upon this very large park today, and I can't wait to go back and try out some of the trails! It's much bigger than one might think being this close to DC, and I was very impressed. They have camps that go on during the summer apparently (4-H camp this weekend, according to signs),... More

Looking for a campground close to DC? This is it! Off Route 7, easy access to the Dulles Toll Road. Negative? No sewer or water hook-ups for RVs. Positive? Pretty level sites, 30 and 50 amp electric. Great showers - actually HUGE showers - you have a 20 x 20 room all to yourself for toilet and showering. Your family... More
