My wife and I first visited Hillsborough Winery in Sept 2013. It was a beautiful day. The scenery was great, There were only a handful of customers and the winery representative was very friendly. We loved the Ruby so much I joined there club. However, in 15 months I never felt as welcome as I did that first day. The... More

Reading the other Trip Advisor reviews - we had about the same. Hustled in and hustled out. Not a lot of explanations around the wine. Just a tasting, sign up for our wine club and out the door. Take a picnic, buy a bottle of their red and enjoy the scenery.

Dear JG, Our sincere apologies for the rushed service you experienced during your visit. We had an incredibly busy weekend, and while we try our best to let every customer know how much we appreciate them, it appears that did not happen for you. We would certainly welcome the opportunity to make it up to you, we invite to visit... More

As a member of the wine club I felt it was time to recommend this wounderful stop off in Purcellville Va. Hillsborough Vineyard has some of the finest local wines I have tasted. What a pleasure it is to stop for the tastings and cheese while sitting on the patio taking in the most awesome view. Make a point t... More

I like wine, and it was a beautiful Sunday in late October. Dropped by for some wine tasting. The location is nice, for a minute I fooled myself thinking I am in California. You drive in and in the car park you can see the vineyards all around you. The Vineyards has a tasting rooms where there is offer on... More

As our very knowledgeable Tasting Barista pointed out, this is a boutique winery where the winemaker's focus is on quality, not quantity....and it shows! Every single wine was obviously handcrafted and carefully nurtured through the aging process. The Chardonnay is aged in acacia wood giving it a much more subtle wood note vs the often overpowering oak. All of the... More

It was our first visit but definitely won't be our last. The setting is gorgeous; the views are spectacular with lovely outdoor patios. The wine tasting was interesting; we're "big red" fans and were impressed with the 2011 Bloodstone. We enjoyed a bottle with a salami/cheese platter and hummus/olives that we purchased there while enjoying the view from the patio.... More

Visited this beautiful place only to find meager tasting amounts but purchased a bottle and some food for enjoying the scenery outside. We could plainly see a wedding shaping up there so no big deal until we were hustled out of there because of the wedding. No sign, no indication to us that we were on a time limit. Total... More

The challenge with many VA Vineyards are the various driveways... gravel that's graded or some with pot holes... A few that are actually paved as well. This one is completely paved and we were HAPPY to see that, considering it's one of the steepest driveways we've come across! But it's impressive to see how they have vineyard growing along such... There was a pretty area. They sell some snacks. We tasted the wines and there was nothing we wanted to purchase. There is a nice picnic area though so I would consider going for that, but not just to drink the wine.
