Let me be the first to admit it. I am a wine snob. Sorry. I wasn't born that way. It's just how I am now. So going to a Virginia winery? Well let's say I was forced to. We have... read more

Let me be the first to admit it. I am a wine snob. Sorry. I wasn't born that way. It's just how I am now. So going to a Virginia winery? Well let's say I was forced to. We have just come back from a Napa tour where we had some awesome wines paired with some awesome tastes. 868 offered... More

I'm delighted we were able to surprise you with a experience you didn't expect and that it was all about having had a delicious wine and food pairing. Our $20 pairing changes up frequently (the SuperBowl pairing is coming at the end of January!) so when you return, you can have an entirely different tasting event. We look forward to... More

This winery has some nice wines which can be tasted in their tasting room. The basic fee is $8 that included about seven wines. Since we visited on a Friday, the small Grill was not open. The Grandale restaurant on site is full-service and opens at noon on Friday but we did not have the time to stop by. We... More

Fabulous. We went after getting salads to go from Stoneybrook Farm Market in nearby Purceville. We came for a few glasses of wine and to enjoy our salads in their picnic area! Their wines are fabulous- they had 4 whites and 4 reds to choose from, I did the cab- delicious! We will be back.

Thank you for your wonderful review of 868! We do allow outside food (in our picnic area only), but you'll also find plenty of on-site food options - from casual pizzas and lunch specials to award winning gourmet - if you haven't picked something up on the way. Our Cab Franc is my favorite right now also... perfect for these... More

We decided to try the grill at 868 and it proved to be a wonderful experience. We were able to taste any available wine before purchase, not unusual, but at no charge which is somewhat unusual. The food at the grill was great - simple, but great. The pulled pork, the chicken quesadilla, and the hamburger all proved to be... More

Nice to sit outdoors and sip wine. You can get lunch or dinner here also but, although the food is good, it is a bit pricey.

Wines were good, and setting was better. I had my best tasting of the day here. And it is a rustic, relaxed, quaint setting.

Is was a nice pairing of food and wine. Our pourer, Kyle, was sweet. We had a good time. The wines were OK.

Hopping with enthusiastic customers as the only winery open after 6 PM on a lovely Saturday afternoon, the place pales when the wine is actually consumed. None was aged, and the selling of chocolate and appetizers is a wise way to assist the consumers to endure the otherwise disappointing wine. Very nice vibe, mind you, so it all depends on... More

The winery is beautiful and the wines are pretty good too! I have not had all of their wines since I only like dry wines but my husband thought that their sweeter wines were pretty good. the staff was particularly attentive and therefore we met a few of the other wine tasters too so it was very social feeling. One of the nicest wineries in Loudon Cty VA. The wines are very good, they have some sweet wines that do not appeal to us, but many of the wines are well made. We enjoy the patio for lunch and Grandale Restaurant is our go to spot for special occasions.

We are glad you had the opportunity to come visit with us again at 868! Our wine list changes periodically so there's almost always a new wine to try on a repeat visit. In fact, just last week, we added a lovely dry rosé to our tasting list. We hope you have the chance to visit again soon! More
