Great for the kiddos

Very good place to take the kids to learn and have fun. A definite place to visit maybe something to do on a rainy day.

Very nice children's museum in historic portsmouth Virginia. Friendly staff and clean environment, with plenty to do for young children. Especially loved the bubble zone.

Love this place...largest train collection I have ever seen. So much to do and a great break from going to the beach. Don't miss out on this attraction.

I found this place after googling on places to go for a day trip. Was very surprised how spacious this place was with an impressive room with model trains that you could interact with via a button to activate the train or the miniature city lights. Also included a nice little planetarium for watching some movies and lots of other... More

Excellent children's museum. Not as good as the 'please touch museum', Philadelphia but not far off. Kids loved the bus, bank, shop and house. The art area was great but they didn't have much paper. Real down side - no cafe at all!!!!

My children really enjoyed it. We spent at least an 1.5 there. Clean, much to see and do! Walking distance from any hotel in the area. Restaurants, ice cream parlor, sports hall of fame museum across the street. Great visit!

We love riding ferry to Portsmouth to make a day trip visiting Children's museum and ice cream shop beside it. My son tends to rush through exhibits and we still spend at least 2 hours. He usually falls asleep on a way back and always says he had awesome time.

We took our kids (4 and 6) and they loved it. This was our second trip here and they could have stayed all day. Plenty of things to keep them busy. They loved the pretend store, plays house, the bubble room and the play stage and puppet area. Our son (6) loved the circus area but one of the stations... More

We came to the museum with our 2yo while vacationing in Williamsburg. While there were a few shops and restaurants within walking distance if the museum, we came to Portsmouth solely for the Children's Museum but it was definitely worth it! It proved to be an all day experience for us considering the drive time. We brought a picnic lunch... More
