Every time my family is in the Norfolk/Portsmouth area my daughter wants to go to the Children's Museum. She has been there at least 4 times and she still loves it and has a great time. They usually have a different planetarium show when we go and we try to catch it before we leave. I would HIGHLY recommend this... More

The gift shop is wonderful. The museum is great but pricey. If the price was lower, they would probably get more customers. They need specials or something.

The newly redesigned and reimagined Children's Museum of Virginia in Downtown Portsmouth is a wonderful, completely indoor experience for any family looking to visit the Hampton Roads area. We take our kids there at least once a month, either just to visit or for the occasional friends' birthday party. The security at the front door is good - you must... More

Have been here a couple of times and my children never grow tired of all the interesting and interactive fun things this children's museum offers. Be sure to take your camera...great photo opportunities for anyone that loves to take pictures of their children for scrap booking. Worth the drive to Portsmouth to visit this museum. Less crowded during the week.... More

Both adults and children will enjoy this wonderful childrens' museum ! My grandchildren, ages 4 and 7, were kept busy for four hours. Very hands-on and interesting !! Lots to see and do.

It may be for kids, but adults will also enjoy there is so much to do and see though the price is steep, if you can get a discount or by the membership it will payoff

We have been to the museum several times and always really enjoy our trip there. We went along to the Chinese New Year Event planned for this last weekend and were really impressed. We would certainly diary to go along next year and will look out for more family events at the museum as it was incredibly well organised we... More

I have been to a lot of museums for kids in my days as I am a mom of four. This is the best one I've been to by far... We usually stay 2-3 hours tops at these places, but we were there almost five hours yesterday! Kids had a ball. I highly recommend.

The 3 adults and 2 kids in our group had a fun time exploring all of the activities at the museum. We went on a Saturday. It was busy, but, not overwhelming. Plenty of things for children to explore. We had just as much fun as the kids! I think it was a good value for about two hours of... More
