We (me, wife, 3 year old girl and 5 year old boy) visited on a Wednesday afternoon in July. Everyone had a great time. Both kids thoroughly enjoyed everything, from wall to wall. The planetarium was sold out, so we didn’t get to experience it. (I think it’s free but you have to get a ticket, and they were all... More

The museum is easy to find with a parking garage right behing it thatgoes straight into the museum courtyard entrance. The museum exhibits on the first floor were fun. It was clean and well kept with friendly staff eager to point you in the right direction in you needed something. We had free tickets to the planetarium show (just ask... More

It is set up for all ages. My grandchildren who are 3 love to go. And parents will enjoy their time too. The cost is reasonable and if you are military you get a break of the price. Great on a rainy day and there are nice places to eat near by or just to grab something to drink and... More

Spent the night in Norfolk on our way to the Outer Banks. Since our check-in was only 4PM and had time to spare, we decided to check out the Children's Museum of Virginia. Although I felt the prices were a little over the top - $11 for adults, $10 for children and seniors - my two girls (4 and 3)... More

No wonder this is the top rated attraction in Portsmouth! The front desk staff was so warm and friendly, especially Fannese. She is a wonderful example of great customer service. We brought four adults and two toddlers on our trip and this was our favorite part of our entire week long vacation. Ticket prices were cheap and there are lots... More

A lot of hands-on activities for the grandchildren. They all had a great time. From Bubbles, to hot air balloons to bones and fire trucks. It was a day enjoyed by the children and grand parents.

My granddaughter is five and never gets tried of this hands on children's museum. I take her as often as I can. She never wants to leave , so I have to entice her with a trip to the gift shop before we go. She always fines something in my budget to take as a keepsake. The Children's Museum of... More

Our 3 and 6 year old loved this place, particularly the activities on the first floor. The first floor was different play activities, where the second floor was more science. We did see the "stars" planetarium show but left part way through as it wasn't that engaging and there were better things to do through this museum. Overall a really... More

Fun for old and young… my 19-month old granddaughter had fun in the play yard for the “under-threes” as well as exploring some of the other areas. She played hard for 2 hours then fell asleep before we even got to check out the cool stuff upstairs, so we’ll have to go back! She enjoyed climbing on the turtle, playing... More
