I have visited the hot pools at Ngawha many timers and have encouraged visitors and town people alike to go there and enjoy the health benefits and relaxation of these pools.Overseas visitors cant believe such an attraction is so cheap-but good for you. Dont let the presentation fool you. This is a place never to be missed when you visit... More

Enjoyed a fabulous afternoon taking my friends from Germany, tourists to the hot pools the experience is just wonderful and on that day the pools were approx. 3 degrees hotter which made the hotter pools unbearable but there were loads of pools to bathe in, the staff are very friendly and everyone has a good natter up and down the... These hot springs are brilliant. Even the puddles outside in the car park are bubbling! Don't be put off by first apperances, these pools are as authentic and natural as you can get. While they are basic, the hot pool experience is amazing. Dark pools that range in temperature from 37-45 degrees (ouch that was hot!) and milky white pools... More

The Ngawha hot springs are located just out of Kaikohe (half way between the Bay of Islands and Kauri Coast regions). Ginns is one of 2 spas, I tried both and found this one to be better, they also have accommodation, camping area and picnic grounds. The facilities while very rustic were in better condition, cleaner and have a better... More

Went there today after the Waitangi celebration's with my daughter and two sisters. Myself, my daughter, and one of my sisters had been there before and it's a great place to unwind after a long day. The weather wasn't great, rain and wind, but that didn't matter, just made it even better. It great that it is commercialized and has a... More

We stayed for a night at the campsite which was nice and peaceful and paid the extra $5 to use the pools. Yes it's basic and rustic but the focus is on what is in the water itself and there is plentiful information on the different chemical make-up of each pool and what its benefits are. This is a million... More

I was a bit shocked when i first arrived & was surprised to see the amount of people in there from all walks of life. Definitely needs a bit of work but still a good idea & a different experience! Cheap entry $4, possibly something they could look at to get the revenue to develop it a bit more. Not... More

I have been blessed to visit the Waiwera springs regularly for three years now and it is just such a treat. Yes, it is basic and it is most definitely not going to appeal to those of you who want a synthetic spa experience. The pools vary from day to day in temperature, depending on the weather. They also vary... More
