As part of our motel deal, we went to visit these springs which I had never heard of before. No frills, but just wonderful. Open 9am till 9pm and at just $5 each, we tried all of the pools - a variety of temperatures, wooden surrounds and sand on the bottom. Left your skin feeling wonderful, and everyone very relaxed.

My partner and I stumbled upon Ngawha while we were exploring the Northland. Of the two springs, we chose Ginn's because I read a review on an app called "Camper Mate". We spent the night in one of the rooms available. It wasn't lavish, but that is what made the experience even better. The pool are as raw and rustic... More

There are two hot springs businesses in ngawha (naf-fa), but tripadvisor doesn't distguinish between them. One is $5 and one is $4. I went to Ginn, which is the $5 one. I'm not a hippy-type, but I am open to trying new things. This was definitely one I don't regret, even if I did have to wash the smell off.... More

If you're idea of touring a country like NZ is to give 'two fingers' to MacDonalds, Tesco's and all the other corporate junk we have to live with then this is the place for you! We found this spot through the excellent 'NZ Frenzy' tour guide that we purchased on Amazon and it really is the best 'old Kiwi' experience... More

Absolutely brilliant experience. A Must do for an authentic experience. Affordable for all, and friendly staff. If you're stuck for transport, email them, and a very friendly lady named carole may offer to transport you. Taxi's quote $150, and Carole was kind enough to do it for $30. The spa's are fantastic! Not commercialised and not chlorinated/filtered water as at... More

Myself and a friend are travelling round NZ and we really wanted to do something different in Kiwi land. We heard about these hot springs near to where we were staying in Paihia, however, sadly they were too far away from where we were staying. Thankfully the site manager offered us a lift for a fraction of the cost of... More

For a first timer it could be quite surprising how much the hot pools smell but don't let that stop you. There are multiple pools at different temperatures, which is perfect for individuals. We paid $5 each and we had such a fantastic time, even better because it was a raining, cold, winter day.

We came here (Ginns place, there are two) on recommendation and basically knew what to expect. $5 per person, very basic facilities, 8 wood-lined pools with dark murky water and sand bottom, only one cold shower. The spring is natural and unfiltered so hot mineral water is continuously bubbling up through the sand - ouch! - if you sit right... More

I live locally and I go often to these beautiful natural healing pools. Not only good for aches and pains but also for stress relief.
