I expected just another maori village... but actually REALLY enjoyed this one. Its set in a lovely spot. Super cheap too... so particularly good for those on a budget... plus there's an after-hours entrance so you can go when it suits you More

This is a community project run by volunteers for the preservation of the Kerikeri stone store area. This was a very inexpensive ($5NZ per adult and $1NZ per child) and relaxed way to view a Maori village. We decided to pop into Rewa's village to get a feel for early Maori life in comparison to the european early settlers. It was very cheap to go in and we immediately felt relaxed enough to let the kids have a wander without having to shout 'don't touch!' all the time.
