Me, my boyfriend and a friend went sailing with Mike and professional crew member, I don't remember her name. We participated in setting the sails and I got to steer the big boat by myself. It was an awesome experience. The island stop and they barefooted walk is beautiful, all though I felt a bit discomfort by walking in the... More

Awesome day on Gungha! Mike is the most amiable captain (& informed/interesting, too). To know the Bay of Isl.s, one must sail them. Mike offers the best personal experience!

Had a lovely day sailing with Mike and Debbie, thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. They obviously enjoy what they do, which makes everyone else enjoy it too! Fantastic hospitality and Mike has many hilarious stories to tell you. We were kept fed and watered and had a lovely walk to some fabulous views. Saw a few penguins along the way... More

After reviewing numerous brouchures over a couple of beverages, my wife and I decided on the Gungha ll. Mainly because my wife was nervous of being seasick and I was keen to go on a mono hull yacht. She was the largest on offer (the yacht, not my wife). There were 11 on our cruise (max 12). Left Port at... More

I really want to thank to Captain Mike, who made this day trip really special! Mike was so welcoming, and shared with us many stories about his adventures in the sea. We were a small group, so we really got to know one another. The day was perfect and so relaxing! We got fresh fruits and vegetables, and a sandwich... More

Was on a 14 night New Zealand cruise. Bay of Islands was our last stop on the trip and deiced to do this sailing, and wow, I'm glad I did. Mike and Debbie were absolutely delightful. After, a long trip from Australia and around New Zealand, I wanted the last day of the cruise to be relaxing and peaceful day.... More

An excellent way of seeing the Bay of Islands "waterside". Sailing amongst the islands, members of the party had the opportunity to help sail the yacht .... or just soak up the sun. Once anchored for lunch we were able to swim, kayak, snorkel, or just chill out. There are a number of different yachts offering this trip - we... More

We wanted to spend a day on the water in the Bay of a Islands and based on both Trip Advisor reviews and a personal recommendation, decided to go with Gungah Ii. We had a wonderful time! The wind was light and flukey in the morning so sailing was difficult, but after lunch the wind had picked up and Gungha... More

"Mike" our ex-canuck host set the tone to make this a very easy going day out - help crew if you want, hang out and chat if you want - we were lucky with the weather and got to see a pod of dolphins as a bonus. We swam/kayaked/ short walk for magnicifent views at a beautiful small island. in... More

Richard, our captain for today, gave us a wonderful day on the Bay of Islands. We set out with ten to twelve other people for a two hour sail, arrived at an island to climb to Cook's Point for breath taking views, snorkeled, kayaked, swam, had a very simple but excellent picnic lunch, and then sailed back. Those who wanted... More
