Even though we live in Kerikeri, we ALWAYS enjoy a visit to Makana Chocolate factory. If you visit the Bay of Islands, you really should pay this place a visit. As you walk inside you are greeted with the lovely smell of chocolate. You can watch all the chocolates being made - behind glass - and there is always a... More

This is the factory where they making hand packed chocolate. Different kinds of chocolate that you can taste before you´ll buy them. They aren´t the cheapest, but definately worthy to buy even for you or your friends. It´s pefect gift and they offer the service of delivery anywhere to anyone.

Sampled the macadamia butter toffee crunch. And had to buy some. The other tasters were just as delicious. Although the prices seem high. The confectionery is absolutely worth it. I purchased some for my partners birthday she loved it also

Two years ago, I was driving along Kerikeri road when I went pass the Makana Confections building that caught my eye. I doubled back and boy was I glad I did so! The Macadamia Butter Toffee Crunch left such a lasting impression that I am going to get more of them when I head down to New Zealand this October.... More

Purchased their Macadamia Chocolate Crunch - haven't been the same since. Already tried their truffles once before and had to go back and try something new. Was not disappointed. Got an extra box as a gift and the receiver's eyes rolled back when they tried it. Great sign.

Matakana produces a range of delicious chocolates. It is interesting to see them being put together in a spotless kitchen. Every visitor gets a free sample worth calling in for! The packages are not cheap but very high quality.
