This place just warmed the cockles of our hearts! Such a special and beautiful spot and plenty of information. The tour through Kemp house is well worth it. Upstairs in the Stone store is a very good hands on museum More

The early European history in New Zealand had to do with exploitation and greed, most typified by the whaling industry, but also of the "other-serving" efforts of the early missionaries to the Maoris. In Kerikeri at this one location, one can find out about the later, with all the failures and successes that pre-Waitangi Treaty history affords. The tour of... More

This is good for a peek into the past with many reproduction implements and artifacts from the past history of this mission store. Whilst there is a defacto exchange agreement with the National Trust in UK, it does not extend to guided tours of the Mission House (Kemp House) - pity! More

Did not take the tour, we have to make choices on the budget. Enjoyed the outlook, the stone building has great brick work and it is great to see some of history remaining in NZ. Bought a few things that were not overly priced from the store. More

Well worth the visit to see the beauty of the location and the buildings around it all built over a hundred years ago. Picture postcard perfect. More

Its historical store and accommodation display is very well put together. There are gardens to explore and even a trail to hike if you are inclined. It's a place for visitors to stay for an hour then perhaps enjoy picnic and/or a hike stroll later through the gardens and then follow the river trail. Very well organised and visitors leave... More
