Whilst in Kerikeri we decided to take a hike to these beautiful falls. The walk is about an hour long through a well worn forest path. On the walk we saw people iof varying degrees of age and fitness, so the walk should ok for most people. The only challenge was the steepness of some of the terrain, although there... More

Just a few minutes drive out of KeriKeri Township you will find the Rainbow Falls, it's only a few minutes walk to the elevated view of the falls and is very easy, and suitable for people with disabilities. The Falls are the largest in the Bay of Islands, and are very pretty. If you feel up to a slightly longer... More

I've been in Kerikeri nearly 3 months and I never turn down an opportunity to go to Rainbow Falls. It's visually stunning and only a 50 minute walk from the town! A great place to go to relax and enjoy the sound of the falls, and an even better place to go for a swim! (Take care of hidden rocks... More

Short walk to safely view the amazing waterfall with different tracks to see it from different point of views. You can even go down for a swim at the bottom of the waterfall. Great place for photos :)

A very short walk from the car park brings you to the top of these lovely falls. If you feel more adventurous, then you can walk to the bottom of the falls where you can swim in the river. There are good signs with interesting information about the history of this beautiful place. Top of the falls is wheelchair and... More

You must do the full walk from the Stone Store to Rainbow Falls. It takes about an hour at a good walking pace. The track is well maintained and a little hilly in places. You will see along the a way an ancient power station, Totara Forests, Kauri Trees, and of course the Rainbow Falls.

On the outskirts of Kerikeri are these falls. There are several viewing locations but the best is down a small track about 5 mins if that to the base of the falls. Very picturesque and quiet location to relax. These and the Whangarei Falls are our favourite in the Northland area.
