We returned after 3 years as our youngest was too young to remember her first visit which we thought was great. This time we were not treated to Elmo' antics, and the birds that you can feed were already well fed with a massive tray of seed, and were totally uninterested in being hand-fed. Our previous visit with a more... More

We visited The Parrot Place as we were passing and both love birds. Sadly, we were very disappointed. A lot of the aviaries were very small and none of them had any enrichment. The birds looked bored and in some cases distressed. The aviaries were dirty. Overall we were not impressed and left feeling very sad for the birds.

We enjoyed our time here. The birds were good fun and seemed to be well cared for. The lady gives you an introduction to a parrot and then gives you some peanuts to feed them with. My advice would be to buy some extra nuts as you soon run out. All in all a pleasant afternoon.

Such a variety of beautifully coloured parrots and others in a very well maintained environment. Well worth a visit .

Stopped here on our way between Paihia and Kaitaia, and it was lovely to wander around the aviaries and watch the birds, especially seeing a tiny baby quail, and a cockatiel who was very insistent in having his head scratched. You're offered to hold some of the younger birds when you first go in, which was fun, and they were... More

This was undoubtedly the highlight of our holiday. We visited again with my daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandchildren. We visited on our last year's holiday and we were delighted to visit once again. Mark our host was great with the youngsters and we spent quite some time with the younger birds literally in the hand. His enthusiasm for his birds... More

We really enjoyed seeing all the colourful and chatty birds here. The best part was when some of the birds landed on your hats or ate nuts from your hands.
