Choose a 'Martinborough in a Day' tour and take the stress out of drink/driving. Fully hosted, visit four vineyards, enjoy a lovely vineyard lunch and visit an Olive Grove or take the 'Pinot to Palliser Bay' tour for something different. This tour goes to the fishing village of Ngawi and the seal colonies at Cape Palliser. Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch on the beach and a beer or coffee at the historic Lake Ferry Hotel. All tours are conducted in luxury vehicles hosted by a local who knows the region intimately. This is your opportunity to go behind the scenes, meet winemakers and producers not normally available to the general public, while at the same time tasting the fantastic produce and wines of the region.

I had a great day touring Martinborough with Simon. I agree with earlier posts - just relax and leave it all to Simon, he has great knowledge of both wine and the area and will take you where you want to go. I visited 5 wineries including Ata Rangi, Alexander and Murdoch James (where I had lunch). My two favourite... More

Had a fun day out and Simon altered the itinerary to suit us and what we wanted to see. The only recommendation we would make is it would be useful to have Simon wear a microphone so that everyone in the tour van could hear his commentary.

We were picked up by Naomi at the Featherston railway station on a beautiful day. There were supposed to be 9 of us ... but 2 were missing. Naomi contacted her office, who found the missing people - they had missed their stop. The tour person was great in sending a rescue car to the next railway stop and collect... More

Simon added so much to our wine tasting experience. He's knowledgeable about the wine, the varieties, the geography and history and it all makes to enhance the experience. Not to mention the great wines and countryside. A great experience. Much better than trying to do it yourself.

What a way to spend a day. We travelled by train to Featherston where we were met by Olivia. Olivia was great, bubbly and very knowledgeable. We visited 4 wineries all of which were very hospitable and generous. The café where we had lunch was amazing. Very busy and understandably so given the brilliant lunch and afternoon tea we were... My sister and I booked the full day package from Martinborough's Wine Tours and it was a terrific experience! We took a train from Wellington to Featherston and was met by Simon at the station. Simon brought us to Magrain, Poppies (lunch as well) , Murdoch James, Ata Rangi and ended at Alexander. Each winery had its highlights and Simon... More

Simon picked us up from our hotel right on time then drove us to Cambridge Road - innovative and tasty wines. On our way to Schubert Winery we realized the lunch our travel advisor said was included in our 1/2 day tour was, in fact, not included. While we tasted smooth, outstanding wines Simon snuck away and returned with fresh,... More

our group of six did the full day tour. Simon picked us up from 2 different venues and looked after us all day - awesome! The wines and venues Simon chose were awesome and that would be our tip - trust Simon to look after you. The time we picked somewhere - not so good. Simon's local knowledge, not only... More

Although I was the only participant on that day, the guide Simon didn't mind taking me several wineries. He is knowledgeable and kind, and thanks to him I was able to taste the excellent wines and communicate with the people there. During the tour, he took me to the field and I had a closer look how grape tree is... More

My partner and I did the half day tour and would like to thank Simon for such an awesome experience. Simon is so knowledgeable and was happy to answer any questions we had about anything, whether it be wine or why the streets are named as they are. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and highly recommend you to everyone!
