Owner description: Choose a 'Martinborough in a Day' tour and take the stress out of drink/driving. Fully hosted, visit four vineyards, enjoy a lovely vineyard lunch and visit an Olive Grove or take the 'Pinot to Palliser Bay' tour for something different. This tour goes to the fishing village of Ngawi and the seal colonies at Cape Palliser. Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch on the beach and a beer or coffee at the historic Lake Ferry Hotel. All tours are conducted in luxury vehicles hosted by a local who knows the region intimately. This is your opportunity to go behind the scenes, meet winemakers and producers not normally available to the general public, while at the same time tasting the fantastic produce and wines of the region.

My partner and I did a full day, customised tour which was an amazing experience from start to finish. Our tour was customised to suit us as we'd already done the mini-tour at Murdoch James (which I also highly recommend) and overnight accommodation in Martinborough was also booked for us. Simon, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and yet... More

Hope this is the correct site. Train ride from Wellington to Featherston was lovely. Small bus was ok to go around wineries. Disappointed only went to 4 wineries, and 3 of them were nearly in walking distance of each other, so felt for the day didn't really experience the area. Lunch was fresh and lovely, plus cheese at the end... More

We have done wine tours in many countries and this was one of the best. We visited one good size, and three boutique wineries for tastings and touring. Each winery was enthusiastic about their craft and it showed. Our tour guide (Simon) was very knowledgeable about the region and New Zealand wines. Even more important, he was passionate about his... We decided to treat ourselves to a private wine tour, and we did not regret it. Picked up from our hotel on time and driven around in a very comfortable car with Simon, our guide, who was friendly, knowledgable and flexible. I think we visited seven wineries in all, including a delightful tour and lunch provided at Murdoch James. The... More

Did our own thing in the vineyards - so easy with so many within walking distance of the central square, but picked up this tour to the wild Cape Palliser to see more of the country round about. Simon was an excellent guide explaining the culture and customs of the area. We were able to stand within a few feet... More

Visiting Wellington for a weekend to celebrate my best friend's 40th, five blokes decided to do a full day wineries tour on Saturday with Martinborough Wine Tours. We were blessed with the most amazing sunny warm April day and the trip up on the train to Featherston was a breeze. Simon was our host, picked us up from the station... More

Went on a winetour today with Simon being our host. Simon told us a lot about the Martinborough history, wines and vineyards. We had a laugh, we learned a lot and - most of all - tasted some delicious wines. Although it was a rainy day in the sun, the wines made it one happy day.

We had the most amazing day with Jill and Roger from Martinborough Wine Tours. We visited 3 different wineries, and the icing on the cake was then visiting Jill and Roger's winery and getting a very personal and in-depth tour. They are so knowledgeable about wine, the area, and everything else that you could want to know on an amazing... More

We spent our first day of 2013 with Jill and Roger. They were magnificient hosts, first picking us up in Wellington, than sharing their city and finally sharing their vineyard. We really enjoyed their company. The wines were the proverbial icing on the cake. If you enjoy wine, you need to experience these wines and if you appreciate hospitality, than... More
