Didn't think I'd want to swim until I walked along the water's edge- both water and sand were so clean and beautiful! We were right in front of the surf lifesaving club, and given the strength of the waves, the drop at the edge of the water, and the history of sharks, that would be my choice of swimming spot.... Easy to park, have a nice clean beach and jetty to walk on or fish off of. The waves were smashing that day, literally. LOL Second time there and we really liked it.

This is a very busy beach on the weekend with plenty of activity. A popular beach with the locals and scenic. Went there during Sculptures by the Sea which made it even more crowded. But enjoyed the visit. Easy to get to with a short walk from the TransPerth train station.

I just love this beach..the water is so clear that you can find fish swimming next to you. Just one reminder--its better to go there early in the morning because the sea is calm and the waves not too strong, usually in afternoon the winds and waves are strong so better go there earlier!

Great place to visit for a "beach-type" day. Easy to get to by train - about 1 km from Cottesloe station, between Perth & Fremantle. Plenty there to see and do. Views of the distand Islands, beach is laid out thoughtfully with free everything facilities. Absolutely clean beach. Lots of cafe's and restaurants on the promenade and fresh fish and... More

We were fortunate enough to visit Cottesloe during Sculptures by the Sea which added to such a special experience. We met up with our friends at the local hotel and drank some wonderful WA SSB and watched the most spectacular sunset.

I just reviewed the list of the 20 best beaches in the world and believe Cottesloe Beach is up there in front of the other beaches mentioned for Australia. Had a swim this morning and a coffee by the beach. Picture perfect at this time of year. Paulo & Robina E are right about the toilet facilities although reasonably clean... More

A great attraction and plenty to see for everyone, lots of shade to sit and enjoy the many works of art. Only downside was the public toilets which were a disgrace, smelly and unclean, with the expected number of visitors they really should have someone cleaning them regularly.
