Frommer's recommends Featherdale as the best place in Sydney to see wildlife unique to Australia. At first I was skeptical about whether it would be worth the trouble to drive all the way out to Blacktown, but after visiting Featherdale, I think Frommer's is right. Featherdale has many koalas, meaning that at any given time, at least a few will... more

Featherdale Wildlife Park is a must-see! We went as part of a day-trip to the Blue Mountains and did not have enough time at this park. We also visited Wildlife World at Darling Harbor in Sydney, and much preferred Featherdale. You can use your own camera to take photos of your party petting koalas for free (Wildlife Park and Taronga... more

If do not like to see sad animals in a cage then this is the place for you. Wallaby's, ostriches, and birds all walking right next with you. The price of admission includes petting kangaroos, koalas, and any other animal. The staff were friendly and helpful. They had all the great Australian animals. Most defiantly worth the train ride. P.S.... more

My wife and I loved it (especially since she got to pet a Koala). This was one of the high points of our 2 wks in Australia. I've always felt that these sorts of places are a rip off, but this one was not. Don't even think of going to NSW and not spending time there. We just had an... more

Very good opportunity to get very close to/stroke Koalas and Kangaroos, but not a lot else! Would only recommend it for that reason, otherwise go to Taronga! more

I loved Featherdale Wildlife Park. I visted with my husband and cousin in July 2009. I hav been to Austrlia many times, but still really enjoyed watching the very active koalas eating and climbing around just a few feet away from me. You can pat a koala for free and take your own photos, which as fun. The staff are... more

I'm in my mid 30's and do not have children. I normally do not like animals (I hate cats and dogs), but for a Norwegian that never had been up close and personal with kangaroos and koalas, wombats and wallabies I must admit that this is one of my best memories from my Sydney vacation. If you are going to... more

I love Featherdale Wildlife Park. I visited for the second time today 11 Sep 09 and had a great time with my sister. As a first time visitor to the park she was rapt to be able to feed Kangaroos, pat koalas and see eye to eye with an enormous emu. I was still excited to see the baby koalas... more

I visited Featherdale in 1986 and I see it is a wonderful as I remember. Petting kangaroos, seeing the baby wombat, the tiny rat kangaroo, the strange big black bird who spoke and said "right mate" to me which everyone thought I had lost it! Memories of a lifetime! Thank you Featherdale Leone Farias Westport, MA USA more

I visited Featherdale in July of 2009 with my daughter. It was the best experience of Australian Wildlife that we had. We took the train to Blacktown then caught the bus to Featherdale. It was easy. Entrance was $A22 but there are coupons available in coupon books, We arrived mid morning and were amazed at how active the koalas were.... more
