Trip was canceled on the first week due to technical difficulty of the plane (which leads us to believe there might be something wrong with the plane for our trip) and was rescheduled to the last day of our vacation. Which was really inconvenient for us. On the date of the tour the pilot was 20minutes late for the check... More

Bill, the captain looked after us well and made sure everyone had a good view of all the sights to be seen on the way to Hawaii (Big Island). The weather on the day was pretty good and we circled a few times around Pu'u'O'o, an active volcano and saw the lava flowing red hot! Unfortunately it was a bit... More

Big Island volcano tour, departed Kapalua West Maui airport. Captain was great and informative. Flight was on time. Made sure everyone got an opportunity to see the sights. Flight was great. Yes it was a little bumpy. That's to be expected. Small aircraft, slightly gusty winds, updrafts from the volcano....it will be a bit bumpy. The aircraft is very reliable... More

Very hard to sum up how amazing this trip was. Thought about doing and then decided against and did at last minute and every second was amazing. Captain Bill is not only a great pilot but he gives a great tour and is very easy going. He did everything to make you comfortable and dipped the wings so you could... More

Our chances of seeing the lava and the volcano were slim to none on our flight out that day...due to the "Vog" (fog and volcano activing with lack of wind). That wasn't evident when we took off, but the news had talked about the situation. We chose Volcano Air Tours because it was the only way to reasonably tour the... More

I can't fault the company that the volcano goddess has decided to settle down. We were expecting to see huge rivers of molten lava streaming down into the ocean and at this point in time, that is simply not what is happening at Kilauea. What we got was a lovely 2 hour tour in a Piper Navajo along the coast... More

Booking this trip with Sheila was a pleasure. She was so kind, friendly and understanding. Our entire vacation had to had to be rescheduled and she was so kind and professional as well as being genuinely compassionate to us in re-booking our Volcano Air tour. Super lady. Our pilot Capt. Bill was great as well. Friendly, funny and very informative.... More

While the top attraction is the active volcano, this flight allowed us to see many sights. The trip around Maui gave us a great view of Hana and the North and Eastern coasts of Maui. We also saw Hilo, the Mauna Kea observatories and other interesting features on the Big Island. Of course, the big deal is the active volcano... More

I guess trip can be great if the weather in Big Island is good and terrible if its not. The biggest problem is, no one knows how its going to be. It changes so quickly and so drastically, that the company can never be sure of what they can offer till they get there in the sky. Went on the... More

I've always wanted to see lava from a volcano as well as the sea cliffs and waterfalls of Hawaii. We were staying on Maui and this fixed wing tour is the only way one can see both from Maui -- helicopters can't make it from Maui to the volcano. Yes, the aircraft interior is a bit shabby and the carpeting... More
