My friends and I spent a weekend on the beach in Jacmel and threw in this trip almost as an afterthought, but I am extremely happy we did. The trailhead is about a 30 minute drive up into the hill northwest (roughly) from downtown Jacmel. Note that if you pull up to trailhead in a nice car, the locals there... More

Even though it rained the night before and waters were muddy, this was a breathtaking view, beautiful cold water, and a fun nature hike. Doesn't get more natural than this :)

The trip to Bassin Bleu is a bit of hike but manageable - though the drive up a bit of a pain if you have a bad back - but certainly worth the trouble. Though we have more impressive waterfalls and basins in the UK you are unlikely to want to swim in them - but swimming in Bassin Bleu... More

The strings of water falls was a unique experience of breath taking views. You are surrounded by green mountains and blue water. A must see.

This is an adventure that you should come see. It is an interesting drive and be prepared for a walk. The end result is amazing water and paradise. Pay the guides the fee and they will take you and show you the safe ways to get to were you are going!

You just have to go. Cool water, great guides. Amazing scenery . It takes a bit of time and closely following signs to get there. There are good signs off National rte 4, west of Jacmel. That road is very nice. Once you get to the first "y" in the road there is a left turn onto a paved road,... More

The ride up to Bassin Bleu is somewhat challenging. The guides well don't listen to the others below. If you are a backpacker. The 100 gourde for a guide is sufficient If you arrive in an SUV then obviously you are better able to pay something like 400 gourde. That said. This is not for folks who can't handle a... More

my fault but i did not read any reviews of this place before venturing there so i showed up with flip flops expecting a quick walk to see the falls. not so... the hike itself is not hard but it had recently rained and was very slippery. the guides were wonderful and really helped us navigate the way to the... Once we were there, we had a beautiful hike and swim, but getting there was a challenge. We were driving ourselves, and it tok us quite a while to find our way there. That being said, the way back was easy, so if you have someone who knows where they are going, I am sure the traveling will not seem... More
