We went thanks to Eden Villa where we stayed who provided us with a tour guide to go to Bassin Blue and it was amazing. The thrill and hike to get there was well worth the end result. Took many photos and enjoys the cave under waterfall. Teddy

Off the bat, this place is spectacular!! The bluest water I've ever seen. We had the entire place to ourselves. The hike is fairly easy and the path is actually pretty nice. There are three different pools one more beautiful than the other. Some advice, hire a guide. It's a great adventure to find this place but if your on... More

An easy walk up the the waterfall swimming hole. Definitely worth the walk and the roping down backwards to water level. Get there early otherwise too many people turn up and there's not a lot of room.

Basin bleu is difficult to get to and the walk to the waterfall is strenuous but well worth it. Beware of the guides. You only need one guide which expects a tip. Numerous guides will come with you but make it clear you are only tipping one. The waterfalls and pol are breathtaking and the water is so refreshing. You... More

I really can't express how beautiful this area is. The drive to the basin was incredible itself; a real adventure and a lot of fun. You will deathly want a rugged vehicle and quite possibly four-wheel-drive. Be careful not to miss the initial turn off the main road, it's right before you get to the city of Jacmel. There is... The hike is easy and relatively short (30 minutes, I think), although the drive up the mountain is just about as long and some of it is via a bumpy dirt road. You will also climb down a rock wall using a rope, assisted by local guides. Still, it's totally worth the trek to be able to swim at Bassin... More

If you love wild and beautiful adventures, Bassin Bleu is the place to visit! Haiti is more than what the media says about it.

About a 15 minute walk from the village is this lovely waterfall and deep pool. Great for a cool dip. Trouble is the locals make a big deal about the whole thing and have to help you across streams and down the rope and foot holes. You get more help if you are female and young. Also they want loads... More

This is a beautiful spot. The water was clean and clear and the deeper water was blue like a swimming pool. Decide how many tour guides as you need and don't let the others come because they will all want to be paid. Pick one tour guide to be the leader to help you, tell him how many guides you... More

fun ride up on smaller motorbikes, stopped to buy crafts and visit a school on the way. $2 admission fee plus small tip for excellent, polite, competent guides. glorious swim in clear water, lots of photos with friends climbing down by rope for one part! easy path to walk up there and back. had seen this on Lonely Planet and...
