A blast

A group of us spent a few hours at the bubbly pool. It was a blast. It is fun to ride the current coming in. The walk on the trail is fun with goats and critters to view.

The Bubbly Pool is on Joyst Van Dyke at the opposite end of the Soggy Dollar. Take your dingy and dock at Foxy's Taboo. Turn right and follow the path for about a 10 minute walk. You will come to a pool with rocks. On the other side of the rocks is the Atlantic. As waves wash in, they wave... More

LOADS OF MOSQUITOS!!!! Bring bug spray. The walk was very buggy but once we got the the pool and got in the water we were ok. The water rushes in and kicks your butt. It was so fun! The tide came up higher than we planned so our cash washed away. Found most of it but there's probably some still... More

Slighty larger than a big hot-tub, waves come up a little gully and swirl around in the pool making it all bubbly. Quite amusing to sit and be swirled aboout. A bit of a walk from the nearest landing spot on Jost van Dyke, but its a bit of fun. Dull on a day with no seas though.

We were extremely excited to see the bubbly pool but it did not turn out as planned. First, its a somewhat treacherous trek to get there with signs along the way saying don't stand under this poisonous tree! We finally made it there only to find it jam packed with 30 plus people chanting prayers. Not only that there was... More

You need to hike to get here. Watch out for the poison trees, most are marked. A moderate hike across the island. A fun place to cool off once you find the pool.

This is an interesting nature walk and a neat place. The only drawback was that when we visited the water level was low so we didn't get to see the "bubbly" aspect of the pool. Definitely worth the visit though.

We were on JVD in mid-August, the slow season, so we had the pool to ourselves. A local friend was kind enough to be our guide. He pointed out the poison tree that is along the path. We also heard about how the inlet needs to be respected. The pool itself is safe, but some people unwisely try to swim... More

I do not how you tell that the Pool is bubbling, but you might want to make sure before you take the hike. It is a long, hot hike that requires sturdy shoes and water bottles. You have to be careful of the Manchioneel trees at one point. They are very well marked. It is not a super easy hike,... More

The little pool was great. Little fish are swimming around you as the waves was in and envelope you in bubbles. We were told it was about a ten minute hike but it was twice that and the trail was a little rough. Please be sure to wear some really durable sandals.
