Definitely a bay of two halves. The Soggy Dollar bar at one end, (loud, crowded and brash but great fun none the less). Ivan's Stress Free Bar at the other (chilled out, laid back and in its own time warp, perhaps too much so for the Fast food generation). Visually stunning and the whole experience (including the contrasts) are a... More

Good food, good drinks. Great beach and view. Truly a funky, local bar in Paradise ! Pick up a mooring in White Bay in about 12 feet of water and then swim in. Not as crowded as the Soggy Dollar and with a lot more "local flavor" !!

After a week sailing the BVIs this was a welcome addition to our trip. Lots of people on the beach enjoying themselves, drinking painkillars and soaking the rays. Lots of music, hoola hooping, and beautiful white beach.

I have now been twice to Jost Va Dyke's beautiful beaches via sailing yacht adventures. White Bay is great to tender into. The Soggy Dollar Bar blends the best by far Caribbean drinks. The beer is cold, the food is hot, and the people are awesome to meet. Not too $$$, but worth the adventure.

Great sandy beach but a bit uncomfortable as an overnight anchorage for your boat. Stayed a short while in White Bay then moved the boat to Great Harbour for a better (more comfortable anchorage). Walked to White Bay across the hill and had a great time at The Stress Free Bar - impressive number of Carib Beers supped. Didn't try... More

disliked all the heavy traffic of drunks on boats following the trail of one over commercialized bar to another....LOVED the quiet ends of the beach and the snorkeling

This boaters paradise is highlighted by Soggy Dollar Bar. Boat-up, swim to shore, drink, hence the Soggy Dollar. Five other watering holes grace this world-renowned strand. Each one is a separate treat not to be missed. Oh, the ocean water is gorgeous, too. This place is heaven.

White Bay is beautiful and a great place to moor for the day. That is what we did on our sailing charter and we were one of the "day boaters" to go ashore to spend the day at the beach bars there. Depending on the day and crowd, it can get a bit like "spring break" so if yo are... More

This does seem to be the place to be during the day on JVD. Great people-watching. The big scene seems to be at the Soggy Dollar, if you're into scenes and shopping for the bar's logo merchandise. We enjoyed the other, more low-key bars more. Decent snorkeling to be had at the harbor edges and off the rocks on the... More

While visiting the Island of Tortola in the BVI's recently I was told to catch the ferry to Jost Van Dyke & experience White Bay & what it has to offer. I took the ferry from West end Tortola. It was roughly a 40 minute ride which cost $25 round trip. When I got to the island there was a... More
