Lovely small community

Possibly the nicest village on the northern part of the island. It has several bars, a couple of tourist type shops, surf shop, and an excellent designer jewellery shop.

We were invited along to a fiesta in Lajares by someone we met in the supermarket! When we got to Lajares the main road was closed so we found a parking space to the right of the piazza and found this fantastic little restaurant. We visited twice during our holiday. Staff very friendly, especially when little children were in the... More

Situated between Corralejo town and the fishing village of Cotillo, Lajares is home to a mixed culture of local islanders and many other people from all over the world. A village with shops bars and restaurants to suit all types. A special mention to Cafe Canella, the busiest bar/restaurant in the village. Fabulous food and great staff

There is something about lajares that gives the feeling of stepping back in time. The village is very tranquil. There are a few craft shops that sell interesting goods and a few cafe bars. A crafts market is held in the village once a week. Lajares is an inland village, so no beach or sea views. All the same, well... More

We loved this little village with his inhabitants coming from elsewhere. Once a week you have a handmade market. This small town has his own charm, you can find a few shops, bakery and some good restaurants.

Chilled out village frequented by surfer types, craft market on a Saturday, plenty of cafes, supermarket, and if your wondering where the beach is for all the surfers have a look on the map 15 min minimum drive to 3 sides of the island so never far away from from the best surf.
