We arrived after walking up a huge hill to Taylor's only to see that there was a sign on the door saying that they were closing at 2pm (it was 1pm). This was dissappointing as my husband and I planned to have lunch while we were here. So instead, we walked in to their tasting area and bought two of... More

We aren't avid port drinkers but decided to get a flavor of the namesake of the Porto area. We heard a tip to start at the top of the hill and work your way down in terms of tasting port. So we had the plan to pop into Taylor's for a tasting and head over to The Yeatman hotel for... More

Magnificent view, good service and good Portuguese dishes. OK, the prices are a bit above Porto average, but this is a special treat which you can combine with a port tour at Taylor's. Tip 1: book in advance 2) sit outside on the terrace if weather permits

We ate lunch at their balcony restaurant and it was a foreshadow of our overall visit to the cave. We entered the restaurant and were seated near a window but not at a window. I assumed they were saving those for the dinner hour. The staff was pleasant and the food was good and priced as expected for the location.... More

This lodge is a bit away from the river, but well worth the walk. The tour is a great introduction to port wine in general and Taylors in particular. After the tasting you can continue tasting different ports by the glass in a beautiful setting with a nice garden. Or continue with food and wine by the glass in their... More

Having gone to Porto, you have to go to a Port House. Taylors is a great example of a superb experience. The staff were knowledgeable and interested in making our tasting and tour a success, extremely happy and well worth the 5euros expense. The tour lasts around 30 minutes or so and goes beneath the building to the cellars, showing... More

My friends and my wife and i visited Taylor's after the cellars received such a high score on Tripadvisor, over the Easter Holiday. We arrived about an hour before they were due to close on Good Friday afternoon and found the customer service to be poor, we couldn't get on a tour which i suppose was fair enough as they... More

Just had a three day break in Porto and it was lashing down, went on this trip to get out of the rain for a bit if I'm honest but turned out a great little session. The vats are huge and the cellars are steeped with history ( and a few winos ) we had the guided tour and then... More

We emailed them to try and reserve a tour and were told just to turn up as there would always be space. When we arrived at the suggested time, we were told the tour was full. After a short discussion they managed to find us a place. The tour costs €5 per person and includes 3 tasting measures of port.... More
