We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around Sandeman's port house. Our guide was Patricia who was extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about her subject. English is not her first language but she is a gifted speaker and her passion for port shines through. We tasted 5 different ports and 2 wines - generous portions and ended up buying some!

Even if you do not drink Port the history of the making and seeing it in action is very exciting. Plus you can buy what is not available here in the States

This place is just like a tour factory for tourists. It felt very impersonal (our group was huge). Our tour guide did not smile once and seemed very unhappy. We went to other Port wine places along the river like Ramos Pintos where we felt we got better service, a better flavor for Port wine, and a better value.

Travel back in history. Enjoy 225 years of the best Porto Wine in the all world! The Cellars are just wonderful, magical! And we did meet The Don!

We visited this Port Lodge on Sunday afternoon and the guide was knowledgeable . The sombrero and cape were explained and our guide wore the same! Most interesting as in years gone by I had visited the Bodega in Spain. Tour is central and easy to access and no booking required.

There are many port lodges in Porto. And this is one of the largest ones! The tour is fantastic, and presents many opportunities for Zorro jokes (the Sandeman logo was one of the first corporate logos ever created and features a figure in a don's hat and Portuguese student's cape), due to the tour guides wearing a recreation of the... Love Port and this is a short hop from the city center. Sandeman offers a number of tours and depending on your interest level --and attention span--you can quick tour, sample and move on or more. It's a fascinating and beautiful facility and everything about this place is excellent (lighting, the authentic costumed Staff and of course the product).

Right on the river this tour is a handy introduction to the delights and varieties of Port, with a nice side helping of the history of the Sandeman 'Zorro' logo. It's interesting and informative (not harmed any by the guide being an extremely attractive young lady who could pull off the cloak and hat combo better than most). Less good... More

I was not thrilled to go see the port houses but it was actually very nice and fun. Definitely a must-do when in Porto. We visited Sandeman and took the tour with a tasting. Great building, clean and professional. Tour is very interesting although it can be a bit much information in a small amount of time. Our guide was... More
