I went to the port tasting at Sandeman, very informative, English tours available. Basic tour is 5€/person and includes ~40 mins cellar tour and then you can taste 2 ports. It's very easy to find - just cross the bridge and it's a few minutes walk along the river bank.

Industrialized tour performed by a guide dressed like the Don. The cellars are quite beautiful, but the guided tour felt like being part in a production line developed by Henry Ford. At the end of the tour, before the tastings, we saw a few minutes video that was more of a marketing video for Sandeman than something that tried to... More

Being port lovers, we couldn't miss this one. The tour was well done, the guide was interesting and amusing. We ended up with a sampling of several good ports, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Anywhere in Porto to do with Port wine is hugely commercialised and is the lifeblood of the city's tourism income. But taken in the context of similar scenes in Reims or the Medoc, for example, and actually these tours are pretty good value and reasonably informative. Sandeman has a good location for this (but bear in mind that Offley and... More

I liked everything about it. The whole process of making port, and the long history, with the links to England. A worthwhile experience whilst you are visiting this city

Very well informed guide, only 4 of us on the English speaking tour. 2 good glasses of port to try. Certainly worth a visit.

Our tour guide, Claudia, was excellent. She was leading a Spanish tour that we tagged along on, and she also translated into perfect English for us. The old lodge is very cool and should be visited by everyone. The basic tasting at the end of the tour is just okay, but the additional tastings that you can purchase are much... More

We went to the basic wine cellar tour with tasting of two wines for 5€. We were lucky to arrive there a bit before 5 and at that time an English tour was just about to begin. The tour guide was wearing the Sandemann logo outfit and the lighting in the cellars was beautiful. I had done one tour in... More

This is a great place to visit in the City. The staff are friendly, and can cater for large groups. The range of port is brilliant, however they cater for those who favour something else other than the red wine. The food is good, however not the greatest. The meat parcels and flaming sausage is well worth a taste though.... More

This tour surprised us! Our tour guide Jonathan was excellent, not just another tour. Great tasting, interesting.
