Enjoy an interesting tour around the beautiful offices and learn the history of an iconic port house. After many visits, we now go straight to a five-port tasting. I recommend the Expert level as the tawny ports are gorgeous. Our friends, new to port, tried the Beginner and Intermediate levels and were very impressed. The Duas Quintas tasting is the... More

We went to three wine tasting/cellar visits. We tried Sedeiman, Camel, and Ramos Pinto. And I personally think that this is the best. The standard charge is 5 Euro. You'll have a cellar tour, briefing on ports, and a tasting of 2 glasses. Ramos Pinto is more or less but the tour itself was quite interesting. The advertising posters are... More

Stumbled across this winery on the promenade in Gaia. Stopped in to check it out and stayed an hour. Lovely atmosphere to sip wines and talk. Wines are one of my favorite.

This is cellar tour pretty much like the others, mostly a sales pitch for their own wines. I guess the €5 you pay for it is actually for the two glasses of port you taste in the end. Knowing that this what you should expect then, it's a nice tour in all. The guides are very knowledgeable and fun, sharing... More

As many have said before, if you have visited one lodge you have probably seen them all with the exception of Casa Ramos Pinto! This lodge was chosen by my daughter as she wanted to see the advertising. Well this turned out to be an great choice as you were given a tour of the old offices along with great... More

Ones you've vistied one cellar you will easily find that every cellar is just as the other. Giving the same information independently of if it is at Offley, Sandeman, Quevedo, or any other cellar ("we distinguish by five types of port, the white, the...", and so on). Therefore it was refreshing to take a tour that offered something more than... More

Visited Ramos Pinto one the many wine/port houses across the river from Porto. Ramos Pinto is less well known in the US so it had our attention right away. The tour consisted of an introduction by an English speaking guide. Our group had about 20 people in it. One of the unique features of the tour was the office of... More

We were recommended by our host. It is the only port cellar we have visited so far. Fabulous setting, service, tastings. You could spend hours there with bread & cheese. But only food available are beautiful chocolates. So next time, bring your own bread & cheese. Later same day I found same chocolates in Rua da Flores (on the left... More

We didn't have time for the tour (we made it there right before closing) but we did do 2 Port tastings. They provide little "flash cards" to explain how to taste and what you are tasting and they have a nice chocolate bar, which is a good idea because it goes well with the port wines! It was nice overall,... More
