We sat in a quiet corner and ordered the Expert port wine tasting package with 5 glasses of various port wine. We didn't expect the portion would be so generous and we ended up spending two hours to finish all of them. Very nice experience and friendly service!

Visited this place on 2 separate days. Our party is fluent in 3 languages (Spanish, English and Portuguese). Ramos Pinto has to have one of the most ridiculous scheduling policies. Tours start on the hour and they are in the language of the first person waiting for that hour's tour. We chose not to go on a German tour on... More

We were recommended to visit this Port Wine Lodge by the girl receptionist at our hotel. She said "go to the Portuguese Lodge, don't bother with the English". This proved to be good advice as we enjoyed over an hour of tour and tasting at Ramos Pinto. We were the only people on the 11 am tour which was led... More

The majority of the Porto tasting places are well rated. We tried a few, but it didn't feel well organized. We were impressed by the staff at the reception and the beauty of the location. All in all, the tour is about 30min, and you finish with a tasting of two portos. Good value

We participated in a wine cellar guided tour. It was supposed to be in English, but our guide was not able to pronounce a single word correctly. She sounded like having memorized her lines without the understanding what she was talking about. I had a question, but unfortunately it was not answered. We were expecting a valuable experience, but instead... More

This establishment charges for admission. The history is largely delivered in audio visual mode with a brief tour of the premises, followed by a tasting of their cheapest ports, which were not brilliant. They seem to have missed the opportunity to display their wares and tempt an informed purchase.

We skipped the tour and went straight for the tasting. We selected the intermediate since I prefer ruby and LBV ports over only tawnys. We added the Collector ruby as well which was one of my favorites. The staff was not overly helpful and they were out of tapas for the day but the port made up for it! Too... More

We were lucky to come to Ramos Pinto 10 min. before the tour in English. A very well conducted tour left us with a lot of new knowledge about portwine. A great expirence, can be recommended.

We spent a lovely afternoon in the Casa Ramos Pinto on a private tour with Ana Rita, who was exceptionally knowledgable about Casa Ramos Pinto, the city of Porto and about the history of her country, Portugal. The Port Wine tour was fascinating. We learned a great deal about the early days of the city of Porto, and the marketing of... More

I had the pleasure of doing the Port Expert tasting which was five different ports, LBV, Vintage (2005), 10, 20 and 30 year old tawnys. What a treat! I have always enjoyed the 20 year old tawny, but the 30 is worth the price. Wonderful ports for every taste. A visit to the museum is also quite interesting and informative... More
