Well for a cheap price here you can taste 3 different types of wine. The staff is nice, they explain very well the history and some particular aspects of Porto wine. Very traditional place.

We decided to go to Calém, and it was a very well spent time. The explanation was short, as some other reviewers say, however it is pretty concise and clear. I was able to learn a lot of facts and curiosities that I would not learn otherwise. It is also an excellent photography spot, since the tour is spent in... More

You are spoilt for choice on port wine tastings in vila nova de Gaia, but Calem differentiate themselves with a port cellar tour, followed by generous tastings accompanied by 45mins of Fado music at 6.30pm everyday (except Mondays). it was a truly pleasant experience and a great end to our port wine tasting day.

When visiting Porto visiting a poorhouse is a must. Calem produces a professional, short, but informative tour.

A visit to the caves of Calam is a must for Port wine lovers. During a tour between the caskes of port, your tourleader will tell you everthing about port wines. At the end you can taste two port wines and you can buy bottles from 10 to 500 Euro's.

We visited the Calem Bodega on a recent holiday in Porto, and we were not disappointed. Nice tour through the Bodega grounds, interesting facts and very friendly guide. After the tour we decided to stay for a short Fado-concert with some wine-tasting. Touristy but still a nice experience.

I have never tasted porto wine from Portugal before, even though we have all tasted sweet wine. This place is nice. We were taken an the tour by their guide who was very patient and loved to answer all questions. I came to know that they have dry porto as well for the first time. The processes were explained to... If you are going to the Calem Caves then I recommend the evening tour where you can enjoy the informative tour followed by a Port Wine tasting and Fado performance in the barrel room. The performance was only about an hour & half but featured a man & woman solo each then a duet. Good value for money 17.5Ɛ when... More

I'd read a few reviews, that didn't say very many good things about this place, but I was on limited time, and wanted photo's of the barrels, and they had a tour starting in few minutes.... In Portuguese, which I don't speak a word of. This was fine by me,I only wanted to take some photos, and say I'd been.... More

A very charming tour, somewhat hurried, but still well-worth the time and nominal charge. Trust me -- if you don't bring back twice as many bottles of port as you think you can carry, you'll be sorry. It's the nectar of the gods (enjoy the white ports -- I had never had them before, and they're delicious).
