The port wine lodges seem quite real, they have a nice area to taste wine with a fireplace, and a lovely terrace to enjoy a glass of wine on a sunny day.

Not really Caves, but brick built barrel storage houses.
Entrance is FREE, with a guided tour & explanation as to how Port is made, Vintage, LBV, Tawny, Ruby, White & Rose.
We also received a taster of a Port of their choice. It was a great way to spend an hour, at NO cost- even better

Not so happy with hike up the hill but hey so is the whole of Porto

It was definately work the effort of going up the hill but the guide book said everything that was in the 20 minute tour but it was free. Although they would answer any question that was asked.
They have plenty of different ports that can be purchased for tasting either as individual glasses or packages of 2 or 3 different...

Went here as part of a free deal with the tourbus. The trip was short, 20 mins, which was plenty to see the cellars and sample some port. Good, knowledgeable friendly staff

I visit Oporto for 15 years, i went to several cellars, but this one in particular is really something special: the staff, the information Guide about the wine, very informative and very professional!!
I say "oauuuuuuhhh", Croft Lodges will help pme to visit Oporto City for 15 years more.

Even though it is a clearly short and average tour, you get to know the essentials about the winery history and wines. And for 0€ that's a pretty good thing to do. Getting there is also very interesting, as you wander around some very tiny streets and alleys (assuming that you go on foot after taking the subway to Jardim...
