Soo often symphony orchestras stick to the traditional performances celebrating the works of the masters. Everynow and then, they step out of their traditional roles and venture in to areas that they rarely perform. such was the case as the Virginia Symphony perfomed a Broadway special performance with the assistance of four great singers. The tenors were ourtstanding and the... More

I recently attended one of several performances by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. This time, featuring all Russian composers with the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto as the finale. For a regional orchestra, I would rank the Virginia Symphony among the "big five". The only distinction, in my opinion, is the quantity of recorded material. The VSO performs at several venues throughout the... More

In December we attended the holiday show of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Choir and Raleigh Bell Ringers at the Sandler Center of the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach. It was a terrific show. The artists and directors were exceptional and we enjoyed it very much.

We bought tickets online and no one told us that this "symphony" moves around with their concerts. We simply missed it, because we didn't know the right address, because it was impossible to find it.

The Va Symphony is amazing. I have heard them on several occassions and the music is superb. Different programs throughout the year, but I love the Christmas production the best with all the old fashioned Christmas music. They did a Valvid series one year that was just wonderful.

I have seen many good orchestras and I rate the Virginia Symphony as one of the best. The strings at this concert were especially riveting.

The Virginia symphony is very good and has a wide variety of concerts throughout the season. We especially enjoy the performances at Ferguson Center on the CNU campus. A relatively small and convenient venue.

I used to go all the time. My daughter even worked for them in sales. There is nothing to say but perfection at its finist. I love Symphony music and I love what they do with the instruments. It comes alive. And they can make music that anyone age can enjoy.

Incredible. Joanne Falatta is a godsend to this group, and to this area. She is unlike any other conductor I've ever seen — warm (she hugs every soloist), talented, and a great speaker.
