This place has a little bit of everything, depending on where your interest lies. There are interactive areas for the kids to teach them about boating, the Navy, knots, ocean life and the history of the area. It is good for adults if you want to learn more about the local history of the Hampton Roads area. There are several areas... More

This museum was so fabulous. One of the BEST we've been too and we've been to all Chicago/DC etc kids museums. The battleship itself is AMAZING but all the hands on stuff in the museum is so fabulous. My boys, ages 6, were in heaven being able to touch and feel so many things. They were able to touch the... A science center, a museum, a 3-D theater, and the USS Wisconsin, all in one place! It's educational and fun, all at the same time. Parking is across the street for easy access.

Really enjoyed the displays and learned so much. We had a range from 55 to 13, and we were all kept busy and engaged. Nice museum staff.

Awesome museum about history of Norfolk Harbor and naval development in the region. Great displays for young children. There is an entire floor with aquarium, sharks that you can touch at feeding time and simulator of deep-sea submersible where you can control the manipulator arms from a cockpit. Great for children and adults.

When planning our trip to Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia, I wanted to arrange for a side trip to Norfolk to tour the world's largest naval base and the battleship USS Wisconsin, which is berthed there. That's when I learned about Nauticus, a maritime science museum that explores the economic, naval and natural power of the area. Included on the Nauticus... More

I have to admit this was a super surprise and great activity! My husband scheduled out family for the cruise tour(they did a nice job, could've shortened cruise by 30 minutes, to make it exactly an hour. But it was truly interesting! Then we toured the USS Wisconsin. Wow!!!! All our daughters LOVED THIS! We have 5 and their ages... More

This is an awesome museum and gives an amazing perspective to what it was like being a mariner in the US. It also has the amazing USS Wisconsin that you can pay to board and tour the inside of a decommissioned US Naval Warship. That have opened up a lot of the ship in the last couple of years and... Great for youngsters and young adults. Lot of interesting exhibits on shipping, ocean life, the Navy etc. Tour of the Wisconsin is self guided. Overall, quite nice but a a bit on the expensive side. If you do this activity, don't miss the sculptures in the adjacent parks and also the Chinese Pavilion, both within walking distance.
