We arrived on a Sunday, the web said they open at 10 am however it is noon on Sundays. Right away we were greeted by staff, everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. I can't say enough about Nauticus. There is so much to see and do, especially for kids. Very much a hands on and educational attraction. For adults,... More

It was my first time aboard the USS Wisconsin. It was an honor to board this historic vessel for a retirement in late November, 2014. The temps and weather were not kind on that memorable day, but, it took very little away from the spirits of those who attended. The ceremony was held outside and the wind made it challenging,... This is one of the most detailed nautical museums you will find. We had not planned ahead of time to visit, so we didn't allow ourselves enough time to fully enjoy the massive building of exhibits. You could go back several times and learn many new things on each visit.

This is a must see stop when traveling through tidewater. The history of previous maritime accomplishements is unbelieveable.. We usually tell or visitors to make this a stop on their itinerary.

I was so impressed by the various interactive and interesting exhibits for ALL ages. There were families with babies, toddlers, and teens then folks like my husband and me ALL enjoying different aspects of the museum on our way up to visit the Hamptons Road Navy Musuem (free) and the Battleship Wisconsin. We paid for the combo admission ($30 each)... More

We did not get to see everything. So much there. In the museum you'll learn about the history of the US Navy, how we went from wooden ships to ships of steel. One of the most impressive displays showed a scale balancing a vintage Volkswagen Beetle and a gun shell. Pretty impressive! Aside from all the Navy displays, you'll see... More

We visited the Nauticus this past weekend as part of our visit to the U.S.S. Wisconson. My two young children absolutely loved the place - especially the "sharks" and the horseshoe tank. Well worth the time spent before visiting the battleship!

This is truly a DO NOT MISS museum. We took the ferry from Portsmouth and the museum is an easy walk from the ferry dock. We went at 2:45 pm and probably should have gone earlier, as we rushed through quite a bit of the museum. The facility has three sections- the museum portion, which includes hands on exhibits, such... More
