After being owned by the family of Gherardini it was purchased in 1925 by Countess Elena Sanminiatelli; her family restored the Italian gardens and the Villa. Since 1998 the new owners have started the restructuring of the vineyards and cellars, further improving the quality levels of the farm products. « less

Went to Vignamaggio for a short visit in july 2009, I´ve wanted to see the Villa since I saw Much Ado About Nothing. It was not a disappointment....... The Villa is absolutely beautiful, the views are stunning, really a unforgettable daytrip. We tasted and bought som wine and olive oil - all delicious. Hopefully will be back, and stay a... More

Ok...have to admit our primary motivation for going was to see the gardens and villa featured in Much Ado...but the wine tour was just fantastic, with much more information given than our tours in California's wine country...maybe because there is about 500 more years of nformation to mpart. The guide spoke very good English and akwas about to be certified... More

Dating back to 1150 or earlier, this castle was was home to Giovanni da Verrazzano, born there in 1485, who discovered New York harbor, and later was honored in the naming of the Verrazzanno bridge in New York in 1964. Simply, if you are in the Greve area, go there, take the tour and include the lunch/dinner. More

We had a group of 16 here for a tour, tasting and meal. Sandro was a wonderful host. We were expecting a light meal to go along with the tasting and were pleasantly surprised by the dinner as well as the wines. Breathtaking views as well. All left very happy. More

We are a group of 12 (of which 8 are winery volunteers) who toured many Italian wineries on a recent trip to Tuscany. We did not expect to get the level of service and quality of food & wine that we got at Vignamaggio. We toured several wineries during our week in Tuscany, but Vignamaggio was the best by far.... My husband and friends recently stayed in the Chianti region in Italy and booked a wine tasting at Vignamaggio. Sondro was our tour guide and he was excellent! We stayed for the lunch which was included in our tour and it was well worth it. I would highly recommend this to anyone staying in the area. More

We just returned from a wonderful afternoon at Vignamaggio with our guide, Sandro. We called from our rental and their very friendly staff gave us exact directions for getting there from our location. Sandro gave us a very interesting and informative history of the property, a wonderful tour of the gardens and the wine cellar and a superb wine tasting... More

Vignamaggio vineyard in Greve was outstanding. The best wine tour and tasting possible. Sandro, our guide, was fluent in English (and other languages) and was a delightful and knowledgeable guide. We toured the wine making facility and vineyard and then had a very nice wine tasting. This was the highlight of our trip. Would highly recommend this to anyone in... More
