It was simply lovely exploring the old town, winding through the variety of paths and shops / restaurant that you came across. Try to make it up as far as the castle if you can... it is worth it.

We loved walking through all the streets of old town, even after 8 days, we were still finding new streets to go down and new shops to see. Such a wonderful vacation spot!

It is a magical place, fantastic and stylish bars and restaurants. Just great to walk around up and down the narrow streets day or night. Some excellent small hotels around.

You have to visit this part of Naxos. Tipical greek, winding narrow lanes, white houses with blue shutters, flowers, very clean. Stores, several good tavernas. In the evening, closed to the museum, you can admire a spectacular sunset.

The old town is definitely worth exploring - full of little shops and interesting little corners. We attended an evening concert on the castle - overlooking the sea. Everything was enjoyable and the people of Naxos are endlessly welcoming.

A must if you visit Naxos. There is a large selection of great restaurants, stores, things to see. I would recommend going in the evening when it is cooler and locals are about.

Wandering through Old Town we found ourselves continally saying "wow, look at that, it is beautiful!" There is not a well mapped out walking path, just follow the signs to the historical museum and wander the streets.

the old town is a fortified hill. With winding narrow lanes and beautiful white houses with blue shutters, everything I thought Greece would be.

Naxos Town is great for idling a few hours just walking the lovely narrow streets with all their boutiques and gift shops (although better done at night in the cool!) but even during the lazy afternoons it is very quiet and relaxing. The 520 Bar has the greatest view in town. We visited last year but another mezannine-type floor has... More
