As you come into the Naxos port- look to the left and you will see it... There's a great little city beach on the left, on the way to the Portara. We stopped off this morning for a swim- the water is clear and calm (lots of locals in the water) Walking up the hill is an easy walk- definitely... More

Very nice temple of God Apollo. It is situated next to the harbor and makes a great combination with the viu of the town. Especially the sunset is a dream to watch from there.

very nice attraction, impressive the dimension of the stones, very nice at sunset for your photos. Try to catch the gate without people, this will be the most challenging experience.

This magical portal, located on an island connected to the mainland by a causeway is a wonderful place to view the incomparable Naxian sunset. One can contemplate Greek mythology - where Ariadne, daughter of Minos of Crete, was abandoned by her lover, Thesus.

Very beautiful first thing in the morning when there is no one else around. The breeze is cool and the sun is at a good angle for photos. We found out that the Portara was never completed so we're not looking at ruins but the same as it was left. An easy walk from town.

At the point the sun went down people were jostling for sapce to get "that" shot. Some even brought tripods to mark their patch. My advice would be to get their an hour before... More
