Amazing sunset to be had at the Portara with amazing photos. Mindblowing pictures to be had of the town from here, the portara itself and the views, Coming here felt like a magical experience.

You need to visit Portara as it is the one land mark of Naxos. Also the view is great, not only towards the city, but also towards the sea especially if it is windy!

Great to go up here to view the sunset, and you don't need to be afraid of being alone doing so, but it is also great to go up here after the dark to view the town from here!

photos are not able to show its majesty ... it looks like the gate to another world, that humans can't enter ... besides, the gate is located at the beautiful hill, where it is obligatory to make a great picnic, because the views out there are stunning ...

There is a great view of the town. It is best if someone can arrive at sunset which is a wonderful time to take photos.

We walked up to the Portara right at the end of sunset and it was really beautiful and not crowded. While there isn't much to "do" once you're up there, the view is really pretty.

We could see this marvel from our hotel rooftop very clearly and it wasn’t until our last day we ventured up it. We had thought it might be quite an effort in the hot Greek sun, but it was actually REALLY easy. However, the day we chose was incredibly windy, so it was a mad (and probably quite risky) dash... Calm walk and archeological sightseeing! Great view of the city lights at night. Too close to the city you don't want to take a cab.

Go during the sunset to catch the best lights and take stunning pictures. It is not crowded, and you can easily access it by foot from the port of Naxos.

Breathtaking sunset view at the Portara, it was just a magic moment shared with loved ones and also other fascinated tourists. Taking a relaxing swim next to it was just connecting with the history of the place and enjoying the great view.
