Visited the Virginia Living Museum today with our 7 year old son and had a great time. We spent about 3 hours at a leisurely pace but didn't spend much time letting our son play in the activity/learning area. We did visit the touch tank twice. The facility is about half and half indoors and out. The outdoor boardwalk is... More

Wonderful museum for a visit with children! We were on vacation in Williamsburg for a week, and spent part of one day here as it is about a 30 minute drive. It was my favorite part of vacation. My two boys, ages 3 and 7 really enjoyed. We also visited the prior summer and enjoyed it just as much a... More

Great value and you see a lot in small space! Nice variety of animals and wonderful staff. Good location with lots of parking. Avoid if you see lots of school buses. Don't miss the wolves.

This is an amazing cross section of all the the state of Virginia has to offer. Not only mammals, but snakes, fish, birds, plants etc. plus they have geology! The hands on water tank and the planetarium. Little known fact - they rent out telescopes for amazingly low prices!

VLM has an excellent variety of displays to appeal to a wide range of children's interests...along with frequent speciality displays. Check the schedule online before you come to find specific animal feeding times and other touch & feel events.

Nice for a shorter visit as it does not take all day to see everything. Try to go when it is not terribly hot because there is a very nice outside area to explore.

The aquarium area was teeming with all types of fish and other creatures found around Virginia's coast. The animals were in outdoor habitats and appeared well taken care of. It was a relaxing visit without large crowds.

Small introduction to the local flora and fauna. The sometime dinosaur exhibit is animated machines. Also there is a planetarium with interpreted shows.
