Just went looking for new and quick bike path and found the 5 mile path in the campground area to be so much fun for my family. We just wanted something quick and fun at sunset and this was it! It only took us about 40 min to ride the entire path bc it is so well maintained and very... More

Stopped by the other day to drop off a baby bat we found at the nature center. Drove around the park and could not believe how big it was. It is an enjoyable place to visit or camp. They also have a community golf course on the property. Well worth checking it out.

We stayed in a tent site for a true camping, campsite rates around $34.00 + tax with electric and water a night. The site is quite large, surrounded by trees, and site near the bathroom facilities. The entire park was clean and bathrooms are clean and beautiful nature trails. We are so happy overall with our stay. The Newport News... More

Relaxing to just get out and walk. Very peaceful and great place to bird watch or enjoy a lunch. Nice trails to walk on or to take dog out for walk. Even better that it is free :)

This was a very relaxing place to take our dog and go for a walk. I loved walking here in every season. I would recommend going and enjoying the atmosphere.

If you are looking for a place to take long walks, then you have found it. This is definitely a huge park with many different options of activities. However, it can be confusing for first time goers, especially if you get lost in the campgrounds. The views make up for it easily though. You have a great view of the... More

This place has everything you want in a park. Nice facilities, playground, picnic area, trails, and beautiful location. The park is also located on a Civil War battlefield and there is still fortifications from the conflict. There is lots of signs explaining what occurred here on the walking trails.

The park has many things to offer-fishing, disk golf, golf, camping, & geocaching. The size of the park is enormous!

Take the family for a wonderful ride through the winter wonderland at Christmas time. It is going to be a very memorable event that children will take back to their homes where ever they may live. For all those who are from the area, I am sure they can vouch for an outstanding Christmas time drive through.

we are a married couple (21) with a small dog (mini pin) and we enjoyed the park. It was really spacious, we brought bread to feed the ducks and since it wasnt crowded my small dog loved it. We never knew he liked nature but I guess he just doesn't like lots of people because he even jumped In the... More
