Newport News Park provides people with a get away right in the middle of the city. It is a private, well-groomed trail and provides a respite from the local museums and universities in the area. It is free and open all year--give it a try!

This is a city owned park which has camping facilities, a lake for fishing and they rent canoes & small boats. Open all year. There is a fee for camping. City golf course is attached

Nice park! My wife and I enjoy walking the trails in the park. We also enjoy bringing the grandkids to play on the play grounds, watch the ducks and rent a canoe or paddle boat. Nice place to commune with nature.

I enjoy walking the trails in the park with one exception. There is an area marked to beware of snakes. I am not a huge fan of snakes but have ventured on this trail twice. Both times I have encounter a snake. I don't go there any more. I still walk the other trails. I really prefer the Noland Trail... More

Nice place to walk around with history information placed about. Beautiful walkway over the water. Could spend hours here, nice little place to get away out of the "city" area.

The Newport News Park has a little bit of everything. There are boat rentals in two locations. There are walking trails. If you are into bow hunting or just playing around there is a range for target practice. The park has camping sites, playgrounds, picnic areas and even a golf course! Beautiful scenery
