I recently finished two weeks at the school. Let me start with the good points. For context, I spoke some French prior to arriving and was aiming to improve my speaking, listening, and reading. I didn't care much about writing. So the good points: 1. Sancerre is a beautiful, quant little village located along the Loire. I really felt that... More

I recently finished a 2-week stay (May 31-June 14) at Coeur de France and absolutely loved it. I was not quite sure what to expect, though I had read several long accounts of other people's experiences. I decided to learn French because my husband and I travel to France rather often. I am not sure why I waited so long... More

My husband & I spent 2 weeks in Sancerre at Coeur de France language school. What an experience! No English was spoken, but, as we were really mostly beginners, they were very helpful: all the teachers took great care to speak slowly and clearly, watching always to be certain they were understood -- and repeating themselves (often!) when needed. They... More

My wife and I just completed a 2 week couples class in French at Coeur de France, May 26 - June 6. Although we had studied French at home for a year, we really had had no opportunities to actually speak French until we came to Coeur de France. When we arrived at the school, the staff was very helpful--they... More

My husband and I took classes for 2 weeks in May. The classes were great, the teachers wonderful. However, Sancerre is isolated, and there were NO optional excursions, as listed on the website! We spoke with the owners, who are very nice, but they admitted they haven't offered optional excursions for at least a year and a half!! One of... More

As a solo learner with little French, mostly continuing education classes for tourists, and recently once a week at a local French alliance, with little focus on speaking, I was overwhelmed with the total French speaking aspect the first week. The teachers were very patient and the people in this quiet and charming tourist town of Sancerre were warm and... More

Regrettably this is my last day in Sancerre after completing a 2 week "immersion" into French language. I would very happily stay for another 2 weeks. I have had one of the best experiences in my life. Right from the moment of arrival until now, it has in a word, only got better! The size of the school is not... More

From the very moment you are greeted at the school you are immersed in the french language at a pace with which you are comfortable. We stayed in the school apartment Margaux which is just upstairs from the school so not far to go in the morning to get to school. Sancerre is a perfect French town with everthing you... More

Just returned from 1 week at Coeur De France with my 22 year old son. We had different learning needs and both had an excellent experience. The professors adapt the lessons to your needs very quickly. The school and town are small, which is fantastic for the learning experience. You are forced to use your new language from day1! The... Just spent two weeks with Coeur de France together with my husband and thirteen year old daughter. We rattled into town an hour and a half late because our train was held up in Paris. Marianne met us and some other students at the station in Cosne sur Loire (pronounced Con-su-lu-wa all rolled in together) and we were transported to... More
