Description: New Kent Winery offers exceptional wines in a unique setting. Completed in...
New Kent Winery offers exceptional wines in a unique setting. Completed in 2008, the winery is mainly constructed of reclaimed historic building materials such as pre-Civil War brick, 40-foot heart pine beams from the 1850's, and century-old railroad trusses. Along with wine tasting, New Kent Winery offers tours of the building that tell of the history of the building materials as well as our winemaking process. Having planted the first vines in 2001, New Kent Winery features award-winning fine wines, including Chardonnay, Meritage and White Merlot. Following a tour and tasting, guests are invited to relax and take in the scenery of beautiful New Kent Vineyards on one of the expansive covered lounging porches. The winery also offers gifts, wine accessories, clothing and other items in our gift shop. New Kent Winery is also an ideal location to host any number of private events, from weddings and receptions to wine dinners and corporate functions. Located just off I-64, exit 211, between Richmond and Williamsburg.

Visited with a friend on a Sunday. The wine was excellent. There wasn't a single one on the tasting menu that wasn't pleasant. But. OH. MY. SWEET. VIRGINIA. My friend and I split a bottle of Sweet Virginia on the back deck, with a loaf of bread and cheese and crackers. Everything was wonderful and we noticed every other table... More

This winery has great wine selections, a great location, and a very happy atmosphere. They even have bean bags to toss while you are enjoying your wine. The owner is very engaged and likes to chat with his customers.

Went for a taste tour and some brunch. The wine was very good with average pricing. The lady waiting on us was very knowledgeable of the wines and how they were made. We ate brunch on the back deck and it was very quaint and relaxing. I will definitely visit here again if I am ever in the area.

This winery is situated just off the main road next to a golf course. The building is lovely. Their wines were very nice, and we ended up taking home several.

We took some visitors from out of town for the tour and a tasting. The tour is very short--more information is given about the building and the sustainable sourcing of building materials than about the wine making process(this is good, the winemaking process is minimal) We had a great tour and tasting, then bought a bottle of white and shared... We stopped here on our way from Williamsburg to Richmond. The wine was good, and the staff was super friendly. We are serious wino's, and have toured wineries all over the country. This was the first time we've come across a white merlot. We're not huge white fans, but it was really fun to try it!

My husband and I stopped in on our way back to Norfolk after a long weekend. We have been to 10 various vineyards in VA and this one was just added to the top or our list. We will defiantly be visiting again. We were greeted at the front door. The staff was very friendly and professional. We had our... More

We have visited several wineries around the world, from the small Mom-and-Pop operation to the large industrial wine factory. Our favorite is places that are comfortable and inviting and look like they belong in the environment.. like the New Kent Winery. The winery is built almost completely from old timbers that have been reclaimed from barns, factories, even railroad trestles.... More

Love almost all of their wines. We've never had a problem with rudeness. They've recently started a wine club and it does have growing pains especially with communication. I'm sure they'll improve. Their wine fest, which I must emphasize is run by the local chamber of commerce needs some serious improvement for the handicapped. And I'm talking about those of... More

We were in for a wine tasting and tour and had been waiting patiently at the bar for another tasting to finish. Once that party left, we were greeted and set up. Our first taste of wine was getting ready to be poured when two women walked up wanting to join the wine club. The woman tending to us deposetes... More
