I took this tour from a tour operator located on Calle Calzado. The tour company handled eveything well and even though I was the only one going, they did not cancel. If you are intent on learning something. Get a guide. If you've been on walks in rainforests before... skip it. They have good signage and lots of stops. We just did the easy short walk because we had other stuff to do. The ride up the mountain is almost worth the trip. More

I can recommend an overnight stay on the volcano. The accommodation is rustic in the research station but the food is good and the chance of seeing the salamanders that are endemic only to mombacho makes the stay more than worthwhile. More

Had an awesome trip to Mombacho Volcano with Tierra tours. Saw one howler monkey and two sloths. Stopped at a coffee plantation on the way. Overall it was a great trip, but I wish I had seen more wildlife! More

We did a day trip to Mombacho as a group (mix of adults and kids). We started out at the coffee plantation, where you can read about coffee bean processing, sample the goods, and buy coffee of course.
