Nice church to visit, seemed popular

Missed the convent that is on the left-side when facing the church entrance. The actual church is another of many churches with nothing spectacular about it. Never got to see the convent but it apparently is worth a visit. Hours of the convent: 9:00 a.m. - ~4:00 p.m.

Beautiful church inside and out! Went to mass here during the Corpus Christi celebration and it was beautiful. People in Granada are very devoted. They had a lot of fireworks (very loud also) as part of the celebration.

If you're out sightseeing, don't miss Cathedral San Francisco. It's a little out of the way (take a horse carriage ride), but the visit - historical - is worth your time.

I went and it was closed, debated if I should go back - but I did - and I am so happy I did - it was beautiful

I must have passed this building numerous times over several days in Granada and just did not get in to see it thoroughly. What I did see on the evening I visited was lots of art showing historical events painted on the walls. There was a mass in progress, so my visit was cut short. The photos I did get... More

This is a convent with a really small but interesting museum attached to it. Like most impressive buildings in this part of the world, the American pyromaniac WIlliam Walker burned it down!! As you enter to the left there is a small internal plaza with a set of wall murals showing how the natives were "saved" and "civilized". You then... More

This is the oldest church in Granada (and someone told me the the one of the oldest in Central America-not sure if that is true). Our guide book said this church was a pale blue, however it has been painted white since the guide book was published 2 years ago. I did not see much of the interior as a... More

Worth The Time To Have a Walk Through because it was informative regarding the history and how the Swedes restored the place. The statues were very impressive until finding in the very back that there is a factory making the statues

Just off the Calle Calzada is the Cathedral San Francisco. It is an old church and to be honest upon approaching it I thought that it was only the facade that remained. It is worth a visit. However, it is my understanding that the old nunnery attached to it (now a museum) is a major disappointment. It was closed the... More
