The Arti at Parmarth Ashram well worth a visit at 6pm daily on the banks of the River Ganga. There is music and singing and candle lighting and many people put offerings of small bowls of flowers, candle and incense. Sometimes the Swamiji is there and he personally sings and yes it does include some Hari Krishna.

This is the most beautiful place to stay in Rishikesh, the only drawback is that you cannot roam around late at night as the Ashrams have their rules. Apart from this the place is ideal for staying, the people in Ashrams are very helpful and the market area is really close by. The Ganga Arti is fascinating to witness every... More

The sward ashram area is the most beautiful place in Rishikesh. Located near Ram Jhulla its ideal place to relax and get closer to yourself. Many ashrams, yoga centers, restaurants, cafes, shops and most importantly ganga river dot the area. Its a place where staying for 1-2 days is not enough. One should plan a long stay to truly appreciate... More

I visited the place and got inner peace by seeing the work towards humanity and serving people. I consulted Aacharya Mishraji at the Aayurvedic center who was very much helpful and provided satisfaction with his wisdom.

I belong to Rishikesh & use to visit this place since I was a kid. Surrounded by hills & rivers this place is a home for many “sadhus” You will feel very quiet and calm once you visit there. I recommend this place to every parent. They should show this place to the kids so that they will know about... More

walk around feel the place , feel the atmosphere, observe people, pilgrims, animals at peace; feel rishikesh. No point writing much, one visits rishikesh for tending to ones religious, spiritual side or what ever. it's different from a routine tourist attraction, rather it is not supposed to be an attraction,

Strolling around amongst pelgrims, seeing the ashrams, the ghats and the temples, all not to be missed out when you are in Rishikesh. That is mainly why you are there. You can either walk there via the bridge or take the boat. The boats that take you across stop at sunset.
