The Ahilyabai Ghats at Maheshwar are not to be missed. The evening at Ghats with Aarati and evening lights is amazing. The ghats are huge and wide and you will not feel claustrophobic. A walk around will smoothen your nerve a lot. A boat ride in the evening where you can see all the ghats from river is also a... More

We found this place as the best place in our entire visit of Ujjain local, Omkareshwar, Indore and Maheshwar. I bow down and salute to Rani Ahilyabai for making such an enchanting structure on the bank of Narmada. Just loved this place. I suggest all to stay here and sit on the ghat at night during evening aarti time if... More

The ghat is beautiful. One can imagine how wonderful it must have been when built hundreds of years ago, specially the huge temple complex and the fort (now a fabulous boutique hotel). The sightseeing takes a total of two hours at maheshwar. You can opt for a boat ride in the evening - very picturesque. Guides need to be arranged... More

Just behind the Ahalyeshwar temple the Ghat appears very beautiful during sunset. The river and river side were kept clean. Just sit here idly for a evening and feel the serenity. Boating gives added romantic feeling

We came towards the ghats in a boat from the MP tourism resort. The structure is magnificent and shows the architecture of the erstwhile Holkar dynasty. A must visit

The ghats are no where close to the ghats of Varanasi in all sense. Less to almost no crowd at the ghats, more clean, less polluted & the best part is that they are not commercial. People mind their own business & are not there on your face. Take a boat ride down the Narmada river & get down at... More

Ahilyabai Ghats, housing the Ahilya Fort, are magnificent river bank structures built in India by the Holkar kings with medieval sculptures so elegantly embedded in the walls and gates of the temples and facade. However, the upkeep and renovation of this historical monument falls disappointingly low as we move further inside. The place is ill-maintained, not clean, and definitely requires... More

The ghats are amongst the most beautiful and well maintained Ghats I know. A perfect example of architecture in the service of social life and believes.
