We stopped here on the way home from Mill Mountain Zoo ( which was awesome btw) and I was embarrassed to be there. It really looks like a random backyard zoo. The pens and enclosures are small and often devoid of grass or shade. Giraffes and zebras had no grass at all just dirt. The bear didn't even have dirt,... More

The main reason for visiting this zoo was the promise of an elephant ride. I have always loved elephants and the 2 1/2 hr drive to the zoo seemed worth it for my husband, my 9 year old son and myself. Reviews of the zoo had me doubtful of the rest of the zoo. Good thing we came anyway! The... More

We had a great time. How often can you ride an elephant! The entire zoo seemed more interactive with animals than most.

It was very dirty. The animals didn't look well cared for. The smell of animal feces was pervasive. The elephant ride was nice, but again, had to feel sorry for the elephant

Who would have thought that in a small town in Virginia, I'd ride an elephant, feed a giraffe, and pet a baby tiger - all in one day ?! The elephant ride is only $6 - you need 2 people to ride. It's about a 2 minute ride but great photo op. The elephant is well taken care of, I... More

We decided to stop at the zoo on our way to the caverns and bridge. The $10 for the adults seems to be about right in my opinion. No there's no true petting zoo like they advertise, but with the amount of animals they have on site that can be fed, it almost makes up for it. My husband bought... More

My family and I really enjoyed this zoo! Of course its not a Cincinnati or a Knoxville Zoo but only paid $10 each to get in. I think it is underpriced. Had a good selection of animals and a lot of interaction. Feed camels, giraffes, goats and lamas. Make sure you buy a large bag of food as you go... More

The Good: 1) Our kids loved it! And I have to say, I can't remember a time (other than the VA Safari Park) when we've been SO CLOSE to the animals. Safety precautions were in place, both for guests and the animals, but we were really up close to giraffes, a tiger, monkeys and the elephant (along with many other... More

The Natural Bridge Zoo is a privately owned zoo located near the Natural Bridge rock formation that gives the town its name. There are two looped paths that take you past mostly caged animals. The first path has mostly small animals while the other has the larger animals such as giraffes, camels and elephants. You can purchase food to feed... More

The claims of this zoo are complete lies, it's an unpleasant place and should be shut down. It's claims of a very large petting zoo are completely false. There isn't a petting zoo at all! The ride with the elephant is quite short, especially for the price and they don't tell you the truth about the "photo's with baby tigers"!!... More
