Description: The Natural Bridge Zoo Park is and always has been privately owned and has...
The Natural Bridge Zoo Park is and always has been privately owned and has never accepted any sort of federal, state, or local funding. The Natural Bridge Zoo opened its doors to the general public in 1972 and has been growing ever since. The main purpose for Natural Bridge Zoo has always been the propagation and rearing of threatened or endangered species. We try to offer students and the general public the opportunity to learn about the living animals, birds, and reptiles that share the earth with us. Many children have little or no contact with natural living things in their daily lives. While television programs are educational, there is nothing like standing next to a giraffe, getting nuzzled by a llama, hugging a baby dromedary camel, or gazing into the eyes of a huge white tiger to make you feel and appreciate our wonderful world of animals.

This is a great facility and an awesome destination for a family. They have a nice animal collection and the animals appear well cared for.

I spent several hours visiting. There was an egg hunt and face painting for the children. Several rare breed birds and animals are there from adults to their young! It was an enjoyable time with interesting facts and experiences. It is nice to know that these animals are kept safe and free from predators so that we can all enjoy... More

Absolutely LOVE this zoo. No where else to get really good views and interaction with animals. Place is clean and well kept. Animals appear happy and healthy with lots of obvious love and attention from the keepers!! Staff is top notch and always happy to share info and answer questions!

I enjoyed this visit. I have lived in the Roanoke Valley ally life and had never visited this Zoo. So on our 30th anniversary we decided to make a stop as we went on a mini vacation. I enjoyed it. Not a big Zoo but it was nice, clean and the animals interacted in a healthy way. They were awake... More

I liked this zoo it's not the biggest or the best but it was a good day with the family they have a good variety of animals. I like how you can feed a lot of the animals. One of my favorite things they had was a huge bird cage that you could walk into and the birds would land... More

We went to the zoo right when it opened. While everyone was at the Caverns, Wax Museum or Natural Bridge, we did the zoo. It was GREAT because you got really close to animals. Fed the goats, llamas, giraffe, monkeys, deer, a few other things. The white tigers were gorgeous. We got to take photos unobstructed of people! The animals... More

Both times we went the animals seemed happy and were fat so you could tell they we're well feed. As for the comments being made that... More

felt like the cages were not large enough for most of the animals, also felt like they could have been cleaned better .I felt very bad for the animals. Other than that, the workers were very nice, esp the worker that delt with the mt lion or tiger as well as the girls that were with the baby camel. the... More
