We stopped by on our way to Winchester and it’s definitely worth the 20-30 minute visit and it’s not very far off Interstate 81. It’s a small operation and they show you the potato chip making process in a matter of minutes but you can spend as long as you want watching the process through the 6-7 windows provided. It’s... The chip quality is good, not oily. The wide range of coatings are fun to taste but you have to ask for tastings. The "Tour" is a short narrative and viewed through a handful of windows. The potato slicer is cool to see in action. The potatoes are tasty and not greasy. Nice quick diversion.

This place has great chips and you get to see how they make them. I recommend stopping. We buy the bulk bag it last for weeks! The ladies working at the counter are very nice.

Lucky is the chip lover who has a chance to try Route 11 Chips. To make the experience even better, I would suggest reading the interesting history of this company online at www.rt11.com. Makes you appreciate when you watch the chip-frying process how they've evolved the potato to bag process. Not really a factory tour, but you view through large... More

we got to see the production of the potato chips, was neat to see and learn the history of this company. They had out samples of the chips and you could buy them there too, price seemed the same as in the stores.

We were recently in the Shenandoah Valley and happen to come upon the Route 11 Potato Chip Factory in Mount Jackson, Virginia. It is close to the close to the Shenandoah Caverns. We have recently discovered Route 11 Potato Chips, but cannot find them where we live. So we were thrilled to see the factory. It is a small factory... More

I've always loved Route11 Potato Chips and have been wanting to stop by their factory to see how they're made. I wasn't disappointed, even though the shop and area to view the chip-making process is very small. Even though it's small, it's plain to see the entire process and taste as much as you like of all their chips! They... More

Small factory but worth the trip! We have young kids who love this sort of thing. Lots of free samples to try. Yummy chips! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about chip making. Of coarse we left we many bags of chips, which made everyone happy! Other free things to see in the area which was very nice.

We stopped in to see the chips in action one Saturday afternoon, it was shaking. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable regarding their product. RT 11 makes the best chips hands down, as I have been eating them for years. The Chip factory is easily from Interstate 81, along with Antique stores and Shenandoah Caverns. Make this stop a part... This is not really a formal tour, but it is enjoyable. Guests get to learn about the chip making process as a worker describes the process while you watch through a large window. This is a SMALL business that runs a SMALL factory that makes a FANTASTIC product. The company writes on their potato chip bags that they make their... More
