Hidden gem of a park

Wonderful little park with so much to offer - the river, fishing, walking / running trails, picnic area, benches to sit and enjoy the view. Something for everyone!

This is a small wooded park in Chesterfield County on the south bank of the James River. Parking is free but it can be inadequate on busy days. There is a boat landing for small craft like canoes, kayaks and tubes (no motors). Other amenities include: picnic tables/ramadas, fishing pier/dock, 3.5 miles of hiking trails, playground, volleyball court, and restrooms.... More

Boat landing and a few trails. The playground was hidden. It was only after our visit that I saw it on a park map I found online. We TRIED fishing and found very rickety, make-shift docks. There really wasn't a good area for a dad and two kids to cast a line. At least, not that we found. On the... More

pretty park along the side of the James River. Boat/kayak launch. Loads of free parking. Plenty of well marked trails and a kids playground. A great location to launch your canoe or paddleboard. Large kids playground.

The Robious Landing Park is a hidden gem for Richmond locals because it is 5-10 minutes further up river from the normal city riverfront parks such as Huguenot Flatwater etc. It is well treed, had lots of parking and easy access for canoe's kayaks and swimmers. The woodland network of walking trails is quite nice. The restrooms are adequate and... More

This park is fantastic for water and nature enthusiasts. It is home to the JRHS and VA Boat Club crew teams, so access to the water is easy from the floating dock for kayaks, canoes and crew boats. The trails are used frequently for running, but many enjoy walking with their dogs as well. There is a picnic pavilion and... More

Trails through the woods and beside the river, with wild flowers in spring and glorious leaves in fall. Launching sites for boating, though I don't do that.

Robious Landing Park is a great place to picnic, launch your kayak or boat, take a run through the woods on a great running/walking trail. I run frequently through the wooded trail and see many people walking/walking dogs/ and running.

I regularly use this park in nice weather for the excellent running/walking trails that run alongside the James River. Beautiful views of the James here - it's quite wide at this point. There are decent restroom facilities, plenty of parking, and public boat ramps. Definitely worth the drive (feels a little hidden/out of the way).

This is one of my favorite parks. The trails are many and well maintained. I always feel at peace here beside the river. I have geocached here several times, enjoyed the rowing competitions, just pulled in for a few minutes of alone time. I have never left this little bit of heaven without feeling refreshed. The rest rooms are clean... More
