Rented a cabin for a few days. Very nice and rustic. Peaceful and comfortable. This is a Virginia State park that has been around since the 1930's, and some of the cabins are that old. If you are thinking about a nice get away for you and your mate or family and want something different consider this state park. Lots... More

We had a wonderful time at this park!! We have camped here before at Burson but this time stayed in campground B and it was great. Rode our bikes whereever we needed to go and had plenty of room at our campsite (B2). We stayed on a Thrusday and Friday night. I had truck trouble on the way in. My... More

Camped with another couple for 4th of July weekend at Camp Burson. Our site was in the back of the campground, small but with some trees and no neighbors. It was a little tight for a tent and 15 ft camper. There were bigger sites, but many of the sites were out in the open with few trees and no... More

I have loved this beautiful 300 acre lake and state park since I was a child. Fishing, hiking, swimming, and camping are wonderful and just minutes from beautiful Marion Va where there is a thriving downtown with wonderful restaurants, shopping, and entertainment at the Lincoln Theater, a restored Art Deco movie house where NPR's Song of the Mountains program is... While camping at other parks, other campers would tell us about Hungry Mother Park and about how wonderful it was, so I decided to book it for 3 nights to see for myself. So, this past weekend, my husband, 2 daughters (age 6 and 3), and I packed up and went. It was beyond amazing! We tent camped in campground... More

What a wonderful park! The place is absolutely gorgeous, with towering hills, a gorgeous lake, streams, and animals galore! We stayed in Campground B and the bathrooms were clean as a whistle! The camp hosts were wonderful! They have showers, full hook-ups and wonderful campsites…level too! The hiking trails are scenic and vary from challenging to quite easy. There are... More

My wife and I stayed here on the first night of our 3 week road trip across the county. The camping here aint exactly inexpensive (about $27), but the sites are very nice. The tent sites in C campground were all on platforms which made set up even easier. Clean showers and nice gift shop. I wish that the park... More
