Great children's museum that is not just for the toddlers/preschoolers

I visited this with my 5 and 8 year old, based on the reviews that said it was good for older kids and now can wholeheartedly agree. You have to be careful with "children's museums" that they are not just a toddler/preschooler play area. This entertained both of my kids and had places for younger kids that was separate from... Bring your kids or the grandchildren to the neatest place in Lynchburg for kids to play, learn and enjoy creative, hand-on activities. When we brought our 3 and a half year old grand daughter here, she was "amazed" by the activities she could participate in. The water replica of the James River, the play kitchen, the roller slides, the climbing... More

Where do I start? When you live in this area your kids are always bugging you to come here. Our first visit when we moved here 8 years ago was nice. I was impressed and it was worth every dime. BUT then it seemed with every later visit they would have sections closed off and it was frustrating. The last... More

We visited Amazement Square on Saturday and found that it was Family Night. On the second Saturday of each month from 4-7 PM admission is reduced to $3 per person. Inside are four levels of fun designed for children probably 10 years old and younger. The parents get a break and a laugh observing the antics of scores of children... More

Kids could spend all day in this place. Kids of all ages can have fun here. This is a very interactive experience for everyone. The only down point is having to go home at the end of the day

I have been here many times and am a member. This is a great place that makes learning fun not only for the children but for adults as well. They have some great staff some play with the children. My five yr old has "friends" that work there. She feel that some of the staff is her friends. Which I... More

With four kids, I've been to a number of children's museums in several states... this one in Lynchburg is by far the best I've seen. My son had a blast, and it was the first time I was wishing we had more time. Just awesome fun!

Amazement Square is one of the finest interactive children's museum on the East Coast. My grandkids always want to go there, even the 10-13 year olds. The call it the bug museum because of the large sculptures of different insects on the outside of the building. The staff are friendly and helpful and even though it is in need of... More

We love Amazement Square! This children's museum is a Lynchburg treasure! It has so much to offer for kids of different ages...so much so, that you may not get it all in with one visit! Our family has really enjoyed this attraction for years.

This is the best children's museum we've ever experienced. Each floor is rife with opportunities for children to be physically and intellectually engaged with science, architecture, art and nature.
