Where you can put a kayak in at Pohick Bay RP allows you choose your path - which I enjoyed. The parking was a bit far for trying to lug a kayak (or canoe) back, especially if you don't want to wait for others who are dropping off or picking up. Pretty quiet and out-of-the-way.

Great place to go and take the family, relax, ride bikes, have a cookout or take your picnic. Close to DC and Northern Virginia.

We lucked out on the traffic and drove from Arlington to Pohick in 40 minutes with a 25 minute return trip! Amazingly close to DC. Our little sleeper cabin was great in theory for our family of four. Bunk beds and a double with matresses and a separate room with table 2 chairs and couch. Micro, mini fridge and electric... More

It's a beautiful golf course with tricky narrow sloped fairways. You really have to place your ball on the upside of the fairway as it will absolutely roll down into the woods if you don't. Also have other non-golf options that I didn't explore.

Campground and woods, woods, woods. Nice larger spots for bigger motorhomes as well. Paved roads for vehicles

This is just one of many of Nvrpa's sad excuse at saying they care about the environment. All they want is your money. I stayed here at the referral of a friend ( she found a cabin infested with bed bugs and was bitten). The bathrooms are often neglected and the extended stay campers make you feel uncomfortable.

I horseback ride the trails and they are fantastic. You can ride down by the bay and see bald eagles flying and nesting in the trees. It can be hot but riding through the woods it is cool. They really maintain this park. There are picnic pavillions, restrooms, frisbee course.

We use the boat ramp here to launch our kayaks for an afternoon on the Occuquon. It is a very convenient launch point, even on weekends when there are a lot of power boats (some large) being launched. The fee is low. Once launched, you are immediately on the river. If you go right, it is a v nice paddle... More
