My best friend and I came here for her love of nature. I was blown away with all of the well worn paths you could take. You had really no idea where these paths would take you. The have a map in the building where you start, however we chose not to use it. If you love photographing nature, and... More

What a wonderful place to experience many different natural environments right in the heart of Lexington. There are guides who are happy to assist you as you become one with nature, but the special part about Boxerwood Garden are the signs along the way that tell you where you are, what you're looking at and what you can expect to... Disappointed with facility, a lost hippie village with no one around to help you. It is located out of town on a country road, not much in scenery.

We had heard such great things about Boxerwood so we decided to visit. Could not find our way around. The signage was virtually non-existent, things were overgrown and unkempt, the main building unattended and unwelcoming. It was as if someone built a wonderful garden spot and then simply left one day. We were not the only ones confused about the... More

LOVE, love, love this garden! What a find! The garden is full of whimsical and wonderful surprises. Not at all a formal structured garden, Boxerwood is a wonderful collection of trees, with some flowers here and there. The original home and the water treatment facilities are very interesting. The terrain is varied so wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes. There are no... More

while in Lexington this is a must visit! It's a wonderland of nature and education. The kids will love the interactive kids area--bring extra clothes because they will get dirty!

Kids love it here for the outdoorsy park area and interactive play stations. Get ready to get dirty...it's not a standard play park. They host events at Boxerwood periodically, and its a nice area.

This is a great walk around spot in Lexington with a amazing array of different Japanese maples and education on trees and nature. There is a wonderful play area for younger kids to explore the outdoors!

This is a great spot to take children and grandchildren from toddlers to teenagers. Trees of every variety. A great place for little ones to get down and dirty in a special digging area! Place where we can all learn about nature. Also a lovely place for small weddings and receptions.
