Description: The Vineyards & Winery at Lost Creek is a 50-acre boutique winery nestled...
The Vineyards & Winery at Lost Creek is a 50-acre boutique winery nestled in the rolling hills of Northern Virginia 10 minutes outside of historic Leesburg, Virginia. Tucked away between Route 15 and the Potomac River, Lost Creek Winery is a scenic destination that offers high-quality Virginia wines in a casual elegant atmosphere. Lost Creek's owners, Todd and Aimee Henkle, and consulting winemaker, Sebastien Marquet, are striving to show how great Virginia wines can be. Lost Creek's winemaking style is focused on Burgundy and Bordeaux style wines. These French varietals including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot produce beautiful fruit in Virginia. Lost Creek is focused on producing the highest quality wines, therefore all grapes are hand-picked and sorted to ensure only the highest quality fruit is used in Lost Creek's wine. After de-stemming and crushing, the wines are barrel aged in French oak barrels for 18 to 24 months, thus producing elegant yet complex style wines. All wines from Lost Creek are produced on-site in our winery and hand crafted from 100% Virginia grapes. Our fruit is harvested from our Estate Vineyard as well as from fruit in the Monticello Appellation just outside Charlottesville, Virginia.

Lost Creek is one of those wineries that you have to work to get to (down a long gravel road) but it's definitely worth it once you arrive. It's got a couple of lovely outdoor spaces--one slightly away from the tasting room and one near a fountain--where you can relax and enjoy their wines outdoors. Alex was our pourer, and... More

Stopped by for a picnic with some friends on a day when they were doing a crab feast at 5pm. We arrived before our friend and were asked at least 6 times in 5 minutes if we were ready to start our tasting. Not sure if they wanted to get people started so they would leave by 5pm or what... More

The winery was beautiful. It was hidden back in the woods. The grounds were very pretty as well. The wines were nice as well. Surprisingly the sparkling wine was very nice. The Serenity was very good too.

This winery has never been our favorite for their wines although we are always able to pick out a white or red to meet our seasonal needs. The grounds are well laid out and have numerous areas for groups to meet and enjoy each other. There is ample shade with the outdoor pavilion and numerous picnic tables.

We were greeted by two women, one of whom was brand new. She was very friendly, but it was very disappointing that she was essentially left on her own to look things up on her cards, despite the seemingly more experience co-worker standing right next to her. When we left, we went to the winery right next door and found... More

I have lived in Virginia over 30 years. Have never met a Virginia wine that was decent let alone palatable until today. We went out to this vineyard to pick up my friend's new monthly subscription of wines. When we arrived, we were escorted to a tasting room to have a sample of the wines she would be receiving this... The tasting room at Lost Creek was so quaint & spacious. The grounds were well cared for with plenty of seating. Chelsea was our Wine Educator. She was enthusiastic & incredibly knowledgeable. I replenished my wine cooler. The Tranquility was surprisingly delicious and so refreshing.

This winery is gorgeous on many levels. The landscaping is well planned to cater to every type of guest. The interior has at least three tasting tables so they are more than able to handle big groups. They also have house made chocolate chocolates with assorted flavors. The chocolate mousse and champaigne flavor is my personal best. They also have... More

We joined their wine club and have been very pleased with the wines. They are, as most Virginia wines, higher priced but very good and a nice selection of reds, whites and a nice rose. Our son's wedding is scheduled on June 6 at the Harvest House so we will have a follow-up review of the winery then.

If you are looking for wines at their finest on the hidden path, Lost Creek is the place to go. Lost Creeks prides themselves in producing wines using 100% Virginia grapes and ages in fine French oak. The Chardonnay is brilliant, juicy mouthful, low in acidity and high in taste. The Cab is rich, complex and soft tannins with a... More
